here's the formula: "Suffering or desire is the physical sensation X the visual/imagery that's associated with that physical sensation = the desire, the suffering."
@frankyang
@frankyang 5 жыл бұрын
Also the concepts and ideas associated with imagery and emotions and the concepts and ideas associated with beliefs about that and so on. Rabbit hole goes balls deep.But the physical sensations itself without the tangling of mental constructs is much simpler to deal with.

Yes, self = mental image + mental talk + body “Three single occurrences 1. mental image only 2. mental talk only 3. body emotion only Three paired occurrences 4. mental image and mental talk 5. mental image and body emotion 6. mental talk and body emotion Two extremes 7. all three active at the same time 8. all three restful at the same time If you monitor your inner experience (memory, plan, fantasy, worry, will, desire, problem solving, judgment, conviction, confusion, and so on) in terms of the eight basic states, you’ll notice something remarkable. When all three elements activate strongly, the perception “I am a separate thing” is very intense. But if only one or two activate mildly, the perception “I am a separate thing” becomes somewhat reduced. And most amazingly of all, every once in a while, the inner system spontaneously goes offline, causing your sense of a separate self to vanish.” Excerpt From: Shinzen Young. “The Science of Enlightenment.” iBooks.

This is actually nice to see that you are doing. I have actually been doing the same type of workouts. Basically full body workouts, 1 day on 1 day off with 5 compound sets at the beginning of each muscle group followed by 8 sets of 12-15 reps of "bodybuilder" type sets for the muscle group. I have seen great results. My strength is through the roof and I have actually gone up to 240lbs naturally at 6'2". I love the workouts and always feel great in the gym and have no problem with recovery time. Been lifting for about 10 years now, i use to follow more of the bodybuilding type splits but I am really enjoying this better.

Frank, what you called desire to eat comes from internal conflict that has been created in your mind during your life experiences, eating food gives you the feel good effecting taking you away from the conflict if you not give in to the desire you can distinguish between desire to distract yourself and your body actually needing nutritions.

I found my technique to be getting rid of my carb addiction. Thanks to prolonged fasting it really helped fix my leptin levels up. If you are constantly binging and or always hungry when dieting but arent even stage shredded then you need to fix your leptin levels. The body doesnt properly recognize it has fat for energy usage on its body. Even people around 8-10 percent shouldn't be experiencing massive cravings and hunger. After a big ass meal you should be full based off the energy expenditure for that day you filled up.
