Thanks for review. About glitch: you can try to increase a bit strech marker fade size (up to 10ms for example), that makes stretching smoother in some cases. Also you can tweak some settings (I`ll probably recode GUI to make controls more easy to understand). There are some improvements for main matching algorithm, but it still in alpha testing, hopefully someday I`ll release it.

Actually regarding glitches it seems to be unnecessary to improve it further if you go to project settings and change "stretch marker mode" to "tonal optimized". This removes the occurence of glitches massively.

That is a fantastic script! Thanks for enlightning us Simon. I can really use it. Do you know if it works as well on multiple vocal parts (I have in the past used up to 12 parts)?
@SimonLarkin-CSRecording3 жыл бұрын
Yes it should do, Just make sure the take you want to align to is the uppermost track, select them all and it should work. I've aligned max 8 vocal tracks so far with this script without a problem.
@michaelpilyavskiy3 жыл бұрын
@@SimonLarkin-CSRecording For version 2 it doesnt required reference track to be uppermost, so you can select reference/dubs separately.

Stupid question. Does this work on a Mac? Since the Catalina update I haven't been able to use some extensions in Reaper do to the upgraded security preferences.
@SimonLarkin-CSRecording4 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not I work mainly in Windows although I do use a Mac book pro as well but I have not upgraded to Catalina as I have heard there are still a lot of issues. It's a free addition so the best I can advise is to try it and see. Thanks for watching.

Would you tune vocals before alignment or after?
@SimonLarkin-CSRecording5 жыл бұрын
I would deffinetly tune them first and render that. The reason being, the align plugin stretches and moves the audio around. I would be worried about any glitches due to the time stretching. Vocal tuning, in my view, should always be the first and purest signal to get the best results.

So this works like the Audio alignment from Cubase 10? Is it comparable to that in terms of quality?

I haven't used audio alignment in cubase 10 but I have used the original auto align and this version is just as good if not a little better due to the extra flexibility. It's free, try it!

Rhythm guitars is kinda more complex thing since it requires to built match points not only by amplitude-based algorithm but also somehow use Reaper spectral peaks which were introduced year ago. I'll take a look at it, when I hopefully continue developing alighntakes 2.0
