@@GiaandT The budget was around $500,000 (though once Paramount bought in they spent $4M marketing it) and Tom Savini was their makeup/effects person. Though the dude that got stuck to the wall with arrows went temporarily blind from the fake blood they used. As for the snake, they borrowed it from the animal wrangler w/o telling him they were going to kill it offscreen. Dude was very upset and had to be physically restrained.

One they had the most problem was with Kevin Bacon (in his second film) who was pierced from underneath the bed. The special effect didn't work well so someone had to blow through the tube to get the blood to squirt out at the end.

Back then they used to cast 25 year olds to play teenagers. Especially in these horror movies. The only ones I can think of that used actual teenagers were The Burning and Sleep Away Camp.

The skin color didn't match, and looked a little long, but I'll take this practical effect anytime over cartoon-y CGI gore.

i cant remember which one it was it may have been freddy vs jason but there was a sequence where we learned more of what happened to jason, apparently he was born with a deformity and his mom thought he'd be safe home schooled and living at this camp. unfortunately kids were cruel and he was pushed by the kids and they just laughed watching him try to swim. it showed two staff people making out and the guy thought he heard something and the girl said its just kids being kids and they went back to their thing. if every they do another friday the 13th I"d love it to be something where its mrs voorhees on a mission. to hunt the bully kids who are grown and get vengence retun to the camo deal with the neglectful staff and then all the terror stories about it being cursed starts kinda like a prequel to part one

With Halloween coming up, I would reccomend both Killer Klowns From Outer Space and Ernest Scared Stupid, if that's OKay? Both are ridiculous, hilarious horror comedies that would be perfect for the Halloween season. Plus, they have a connection through the special effects. The heads of the Killer klowns used in Killer Klowns are reused in Ernest Scared Stupid as troll heads. Both movies are done by the special effects wizards known as the Chiodo Brothers.

I agree with 1 thing. This was mentioned more than once through out the years. That is why she did not pick up the machette and hacked away on her in the cabin. Any person the their right mind would have taken the poker and stabbed her at least 3 times to make sure she stayed down. But no, she was not that smart and why in the beginning of the 2nd. You have to watch to see, no spoilers.

No lie. My camp. Camp Hope in Hope, NJ shared the lake with the filming site for the Jason movies. Our camp was indeed a church camp, the lake is really called Silver Lake, not Crystal Lake and even though we learned that we were across the lake from "Jason" when we got there, we weren't scared too much because we were actual kids, not teens. We had already been fans of the Friday The 13th movies and knew that they were only movies and Jason doesn't kill kids anyway☺. If anything, our counselors would go down, jk. Another very funny reaction. Thanks guys! You should watch them all , but fyi ranking for Jason movies imo is : Parts 1& 2, 6& 7, Freddy vs Jason, X, 5, 4,9, 8, 3. Jason gets his mask in part 3(the only redeeming part). You have to be patient w these series, but you'll realize why they're still iconic. There are too many great horrors to name, I've seen just about all, but my fave is Texas Chainsaw because nothing can prep you for it. Thanks again for making me laugh guys!
