Miller only has the rights to Child Jason, Adult Jason with the hockey mask is considered to be his own distinct character which Cunningham does own and can still be called Jason (my guess is the plan b film would be a 2018 style reboot where they divorce adult Jason's connection to plot details of the first film, maybe by saying that he isn't Pamela's real son or something like that).

I know we probably couldn’t get this but think it would be cool to have the 13th movie reveal that each of the prior iterations of Jason actually take place in separate universes and somehow the No Way Home it with multiple prior versions of Jason whether just costume or actors go against each other at Crystal Lake for right to take out teenagers. It had been done multiple times in the 80’s slasher genre at least in Ends it wasn’t a fake out, it still shows Michael working with him and the end Michael taking it back and fought Laurie. It wasn’t an EMT, it wasn’t an imposter it was the real deal. Also showed that Michael is a literal human and not supernatural that people thought he was going to be. People forget that all of Halloween movies except for the first one had been erased. Halloween 2018 is the sequel to Halloween 1978

One approach that would be neat is if they did a complete reboot with Jason’s identity being ambiguous within the universe of the movie like “The Mean One”, make the killings ambiguous for the first half of the movie, make it so it’s just some Log Cabin in the woods owned by the Jarvis Family (with Tommy Jarvis around the age he was in Part 4), Have a nearby lake, an older brother of Tommy, and a group of college age friends, both male and female added to add the staple nudity and to increase the body count. Keep Tommy’s older sister and the sibling chemistry between them. Add suspicion between the cast about who’s killing everyone, Give Jason the hockey mask with some minor alterations, have plenty of gore, end similarly to part 4 but make some changes to have it be fresh and new, And you got yourself a Friday the 13th Reboot that hopefully doesn’t conflict with the lawsuit. (I am not a lawyer, so take it with a grain of salt)

As much as I would prefer a new movie, I actually don’t mind the prequel series. Knowing how Jason came to be the way he is would make him different from Michael Myers, and given how Similar the two characters are, knowing Jason’s backstory while Michael’s remains a mystery will differentiate the two enough to were it doesn’t feel like we’re watching the same character.

It’s not really a prequel series, think of it more as a chronological one, the show runner Bryon has said that they have the right to any film and time

I never understood why Jason is so underrated in Hollywood. Friday the 13th is an amazing horror franchise and should have been rebooted years ago. I'm also one of the few people who love the movie with Jared Padalecki. For me, Jason is a better killer than Michael Myers, sorry -not sorry- 🤫

I rather see the TV series launch first and then see if a movie would be necessary. The success of Chucky is a good example how TV can relaunch the movie franchise.

Would be interesting to see Jason in a different costume. The mask is beyond iconic and we deserve some nuance in the franchise

Makes me wonder what happens after Victor Miller passes as he is pretty old and will turning 83 this year. Would be nice to not have him getting in the way of us fans getting, more movies, video games, TV shows, whatever.

If they do have to use a copycat I wonder if they'll go with the at least what seemed like at the end of part 5 Tommy Jarvis when going to go crazy and take over the mantle
