Except Prick Murray apparently decided halfway through the VO recording sessions that he was done and just left. From the sound of it he didn't even have the courtesy to tell them and just left. Its why Venkman disappears halfway through the game, doesn't speak much and when he does its like a short list of recycled lines.

The Wii version of the 2009 game is actually my favorite version. It doesn't look quite as good but they gave it a more cartoon like look that suits it well. The big draw though is the full co op. Playing the game with another player is pretty great and it works really well with the Wii remote. Slamming ghosts around is pretty fun.

@zigfaust3 жыл бұрын
It is the REAL GB3, i'm so confused people think a direct to DVD sequel in a series is legit but not a "direct to game" one. Not discounting Answer The Call but as far as the "main" timeline goes, it's intention was to fill the role of a 3rd movie.

Yeah it's a shame they struggled to put out a good Ghostbusters game. Especially when we were kids. Ghostbusters was a huge deal back in the late 80s/ early 90s and all the games out there sucked! The way I see it now there's only 3 good Ghostbusters games. The genesis version is number 3, the new Ghostbusters 2 is number 2 ( which is a crime that we never saw that game on the nes as kids) and of course Ghostbusters the video game is with out a doubt number 1. As a huge Ghostbusters fan that game is absolutely incredible. It had everything you could ever ask for and more. One of the few games in recent history that I've played and beaten multiple times. And I always find myself wanting to go back to it and beat it again.
@Gatorade693 жыл бұрын
As a kid I remember being very disappointed when renting both games on the NES. Really like the first time I remember being bummed out by a game, especially because I was such a huge fan of the movies and the cartoon. The genesis game isn't bad but I never knew it existed until much later when I started watching retro gaming stuff on KZbin.
@deathcold_longplaysua48463 жыл бұрын
I played Ghostbusters 2 on NES back in my childhood and i beat it few times. And yes, you can control statue of liberty later in the game, walking through a sea and later through the city, shooting at ghosts and stuff like that. Yes, you will do that sequence twice through the game. But the final boss is... well, is bad. You just have to get every ghostbuster to that painting, through a huge level with obstacles that loook like bullet hell, to later watch a cutscene where all ghostbusters shoot at that painting and that's it. No boss battle. But yeah, the definitive Ghostbusters game is the modern one, from 2009, that got a remaster. It's amazing game! When i played it for the first time in summer, i even cried of how good it is. It's an amazing game! It gives you a true and definitive Ghostbusters experience! I only wish it got a sequel.

Great video! but you should definitely cover the wii version of the ghostbusters 2009 game, definitely not inferior, but very unique, the characters are a bit more expressive than there real counter parts due to the cartoon look, and its the only version that allows co-op in story mode (something I was hoping the remastered version to have). There is also a unique arcade level with video game type arcade ghost in it. Its a worth a play through a great way to relive the game again if you get bored of the original. Also the lines and ending are bit a different too.

@12:01 The 2nd character actually does have AI - I've played this a lot and I've been quite impressed by it. They will move around the room or the area to get as close as possible to the ghost so that they're in an optimum position to activate the trap. Maybe it's not playing correctly on your emulator - the music sounds way too fast and plays much slower on my Famicom.

Fair enough that adds replay value in the C64 version, but still doesn't make the initial run-through any less tedious or the ones after that. ^_^ I tip my hat to David Crane for Pitfall though, and nice to see him make a new Atari game recently. :D I liked the arcade game before which was in short bursts of quarter supply and rarely seeing that cab but on deeper inspection, yeah it's not very good. :\ One thing I do like about GB2-NES is the concept of doing all the things a Ghostbuster does like catching ghosts, driving in Ecto-1, etc., this is something I appreciate from the Crane game too Ie. the variety concept. Pretty rare for the "reskin" game engine trick working out because it's usually bad to worse. Only exceptions I found were Pac-In-Time and Mary-Kate & Ashley: Get a Clue!. I think the Genesis one did a better job with the whole equipment buying mechanic, less sim and more RPG like. Totally, I love Winston, stop dogging him naysayers. X( Yeah price was an issue, added that one to my loose cart collection heh. The HAL version is kind of like Super Back to the Future, some kind of Nintendo of America policy that NA gamers can't have nice things. Not a perfect game but I'd take it over NES-GB1&GB2. ;) Been meaning to try that one since enough people have said good things. Probably the best compromise for GB3 given how long it took to get ANYTHING together, use computer graphics to roll back the clock heh.

Good to know this many existed. I played the one on Apple II, Atari 2600, and NES. Then I learned that all games that were licensed were usually trash. Much later I learned I was not alone when I watched youtube videos about games that had the rainbow of shame on them. I did enjoy the Wii version of the last version mentioned. I also misread the title as "Ghostbusting games" thinking Luigi's Mansion and some other game I may have never heard of.

Next Ghostbusters game should incorporate the whole buying premise like choosing your car and inventing new ghostbusting equipment. Make it an rpg an a standalone spinoff game. What I enjoyed about the newest game is it took you through the 1st movie and served as a 3rd movie. Hell Aykroyd said that himself. Funny how it kinda skipped over the 2nd movie; aside from the pink slime and the painting of Vigo you could interact with. I also found it interesting how Slimer is treated like a hamster in that game. There is also a VR Ghostbusters game on the Sony store while a great concept; it's overpriced. You only get 2 levels, and very short. They classified it as a game which should've been called a demo. Not sure if the priced dropped but it was originally $19.99. I have to ask; is the Commodore 64 version the 1st game to add a new game plus mode in a game?
