I've seen him mime and he can play, just not as clean as his recording. I don't know. I didn't like him because I always thought he could sing, but I hated the sound. When he'd cover other peoples stuff I never thought he sounded as good as the original. He had a chance to change my mind here because the way a person deals with their darkness coming to the light is who they are. He still does if he can turn this into something he owns and starts riding it. He's more famous right now than he's ever been, but he needs to lean into you all hating him and use it to shed his false persona and incorporate the shadow into his personality. He could actually finally really have an impact of some sort if he could make a redemption story to appeal to all the quiet quitters in the world who want to look like blue collar grease monkeys after a life of nonstop video gaming.

@@timbrown6629 You don't understand. Ken Tamplin sells himself as a vocal coach who claims that his methods are the secret to maintaining your power and range for life. His slogan is "The proof is in the singing," except he was busted for lip syncing to 30 year studio tracks in a recent concert while claiming that all the lead vocals were 100% live, and that's far from the first time he's done that. @@mikeygROCNY You know, I really want to do that. I've been a musician all my life, but it's mostly been second to everything else. I have a full time career and I cosplay and troop as Darth Vader. To make a very long story moderately short (I don't blame you if you don't read it): I'm a retired, disabled 82nd ABN Paratrooper. I had a parachute malfunction and fractured my hip and injured my spine. a couple of years back I started having neurological issues and the fingers on my left hand were going numb and very weak. I couldn't even hold a string down on the neck of my guitar. Thinking I'd never play guitar again, I bought a set of electronic drums and uploaded a few videos of me playing to drumless tracks. I've been doing physical therapy and had a couple of injections and I've recovered the use of my fingers, however, I also have "trigger finger" and I have to have my hands injected every 6 months or so. I'm thinking of getting the surgery this time. So, now it's an issue of finding time to learn how to record drums, guitar and vocals (I also play bass) and make my own music. There are several songs that I can play and sing all the way through, for example, "Powerslave" (Iron Maiden) and "1000 Miles Away" (Don Dokken), and I'd love to record those, but I honestly don't even know where to start with the recording process. Every time I try to sit down and figure it out, something else takes priority, like cutting the grass, fixing my roof, or fencing in a portion of the backyard to keep my chickens safe (ongoing), so unless someone invites me to come to their studio and just play and sing, I don't know when I'll be able to set everything up (space is also an issue) and record. I will tell you this. I can play guitar and sing 10 times better than I play drums.

I'm doing great. I'm an atheist. I have my own morals and ethics that are very similar to Christian's but here's the thing. There is absolutely and definitively no proof or physical evidence to support the existence of a God or that he had a son. The bible was written by men. You can try to say "oh but it was inspired by God" but once again there is absolutely no proof of that. The entire Christian belief (and all others) is based on faith. Faith that the guys who wrote the bible weren't taking drugs and hallucinating, or just straight up making up stories to control people. It's 100% faith based. I don't need to pretend there is a master creator who's gonna send me to Hell if I don't behave, in order to be a good person and treat people the way I want to be treated. I've also known too many people who went straight from being addicted to drugs and alcohol, to being addicted to Christianity. They tend to be judgmental and try to get you to join their "cult". Some of the meanest nastiest, unforgiving people I've ever known were Christians. I mean, just look at Ken Tampon. That guy has been ripping people off for 30+ years and I bet he doesn't have an an ounce of remorse or regret. I'm not singling out Christians here, I'm sure there are evil people involved in all the different religious cults out there, but until I did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I was mostly exposed to Christians. A friend of mine was abusing pain killers and when he found God, he burned all his heavy metal records because he said they were satanic and pushed him into his drug use. I told him he was just a weak minded fool who went from one addiction to another. Needless to say we aren't friends anymore.

@sacredcowtipper13784 жыл бұрын
Cowtipper: Hey Chris, I became an agnostic after believing in God as a Roman Catholic my whole childhood. Some things happened in my life that made me think God can't possibly exist but I was still unsure. One day, God showed me His reality and will to you too if you ask Him humbly to do so if you really want to know the truth. He isn't a Santa Claus though like you see some of these TV preachers today teach. He is high and lifted up, the Creator of all things. To say you are 100% atheist is to say you are omniscient and have all knowledge of all things and that YOU know God doesn't exist out there. You can't know that. None of us KNOW ALL THINGS. Eternity is forever my friend. Please do not take that lightly. Your soul was so valuable to the God you say doesn't exist that He sent His Son to come and die in our place to take the penalty of your sins and we have many my friend. WE all need a Saviour. Some things to think about. There are 2,000 already fulfilled Bible prophecies in the Bible. Jesus fulfilled over 300 of those while on earth. Mathematicians about 3 decades ago did a mathematical probability on one person fulfilling just 8 pre-written prophecies and the “probability” number they came up with was so astronomical that is was impossible unless of course there is a God. Haha. It's true buddy. He loves you. Come to Him. Things are going to get really bad on earth. We are just seeing the beginning and we need to get close to God while we can so that we are not deceived. Check out Russian mathematician Ivan Panin's BIBLE NUMERICS. Yes, the Bible has another layer beneath it like a skin of an onion. Ivan was either an agnostic or atheist and set out to prove God's word was not true. He became a believer after discovering the Bible Numerics phenomenon throughout all its pages and spent the rest of his life finding these things in every verse. Nobody knew of this mathematical layer until God used an atheist/agnostic like you to figure it out. God's word is written both with language and numbers my friend. I can give you other reasons but if this is not enough, I will leave it at that. Here is a link with videos on Bible Numerics. kzbin.info/aero/PLwm7qmU6JaJL05_wGRGt1MpvWgFiV7u2w Most people really don't come to God not because He hasn't proven His existence by His Creation and other proofs but because they don’t want to turn to Him knowing He will want to change their lives and make them holy. Thing is Chris, He does the work in us and changes our desires to His if we let Him. There is one way, one truth and one life unto the Father, and that is Jesus the Christ (John 14:6).

How did I miss these guys????...oh yeah ...well till about 1985 I was basically "fried & baked"...then by his grace("supernatural slack"...I've been Living for my Lord!!!! Strange though I never recall hearing his stuff...I was wrapped up in Rez Band and Bloodgood ,Deliverance Bride...etc... well Old school can be New school in the kingdom!

Wrapped up, eh? Yeah, they're good cover. I saw some of them, but Undercover, Darrel Mansfield, Steve Taylor- they were always playing somewhere- always for free. The Lord sez, Freely you have received, freely give. Amen

I'm with you, MIles. Not many people out there really grew with and understand Christian Metal, so it comes easy for them to pass judgement. I love Tamplin and Shout and back in the day this video was the bomb. A very talented band.

That's kinda funny cuz they've got nothing like Deliverance, Tourniquet, Bloodgood, Petra, Stryper, etc...these guys lift Jesus up, whilst putting the devil down. Can they match that? Methinks not!

Yeah, you're right it must be the power of the media and not that Christian Rock is a very small sub genre that most people don't like. I think Ken is one of the most incredible singers, but if he had a mainstream message he would have had a better chance of getting a mainstream response. You might as well have said "thanks Obama"...
