I have this really good, in-depth treatise called "The Blockade," written in the 1920's by? You guessed it! Nimzowitch! He expounds in great detail about the need for elasticity of the blockading piece. Good stuff.

Hey Alex, I've been following you for at least 2 years and I've always loved your content so much. I watch the Jobava videos wheareas I'm playing the Vienna because I can counter the Jobava so easily at 1200 rapid elos where I'm hard stucked due to a lack of regularity i'd say 😅By the way are you planning to make another Vienna speedrun ? I feel we're a lot to have chosen that opening after watching your videos and it's been a long time we haven't had any new games to add on our data bases (very few content on that opening on YT I have to say) Keep up the good work, I've made up the biggest part of my repertoire thanks to you. bye

I just realize, you kind of troll your oponents, they dont resign, because you are so low on time, they hope you lost on time😁
@pqrkymc2 ай бұрын
it's quite smart, most people resign if they're down a clean piece unless the opponent is low on time, which wouldn't make for good content haha
@railspony2 ай бұрын
Never resign. I've had people stalemate up a queen, or run to the bathroom and not make it back and flag... that happened OTB once. The one on our floor was locked, they went down to the 2nd floor, locked, then the 1st floor, locked, and only then did they take the slow elevator to the 4th floor which was unlocked, but they were 5 minutes late. (G30) I was down a piece, too. Some people would resign. The game ends if you checkmate. Play for mate. The point of the game is to kill your op, not to get them in a headlock and make them say "uncle"
@ethansmusic98982 ай бұрын
@railspony I respect it. It also depends on how much you respect your opponent and your own time. If you believe that it is the best use of your time to play it out, then go ahead. Lots of people would just queue up a new game at some point

It would be nice to see Alex add a defense for 1.d4 (1.Nf3, 1.c4 too!) WIth the Caro-Kann as our e4 defense, the Slav would seem logical, but I just hate the exchange variation. I grow tired of the King's Indian, and white is a bit better in the Fianchetto and Bayonet. Any help coming Alex?

Hey Mr. Banzea! I am a 32 years old poor Bulgarian guy. Played my first game of chess 2 years ago and fell in love with the game. Now I signed in for a strong tournament taking place on 14th of December (Saturday). I love you so much and your videos helped me go up to 1500 ELO. But now I am about to face a massive challenge… I am trying to prepare myself, but unfortunately I play bad and feel stuck. Don’t have any confidence… If you think it will be a good content to give me a week of coaching and upload my results from the tournament please contact me. I will be the happiest man in the world and forever grateful! I love your jokes and your cat! My one is called Sofi and looks exactly like yours!

I can tell you that after watching Alex's videos, my penis has indeed gotten bigger but unfortunately my game hasn't improved as much! I find that blundering is my biggest downfall. Sometimes, I start shaking & my heart beats faster. I wish Alex can make some videos about control & how to blunder less. I usually play 5 mins/5 sec. In any case, I enjoy these videos a lot. - StartingT0Learn. btw Alex, I've sent you a couple of emails but got no response.
@angel_machariel2 ай бұрын
These videos have zero instructional value to levels still in the process of blundering. That is the truth. To avoid blundering you must in every game evaluate your tactical chances: 1. Checks 2. Captures 3. Threats 4. Active moves Do this for you AND for your opponent. Normally one is taught to do this when solving tactics. But too many masters forget to tell you that you ALWAYS must do this, in every game! The cool thing about this is that it will give you ideas even if there's nothing tactical going on. You'll be slower in the beginning and it will be tiresome, but soon enough you'll be fast at this basic evaluation. I'm 1760 nationally rated. Take it or leave it, but pretty confident that mr. Banzea would agree with this method. It's the only thing most lower rated club players (at blunder level and a little above it) need - and it has top priority.
