First enemy I had in my Adventure Mode game was a Barracuda (DWG flying carrier). Second enemy I found, after dying and restarting, was a Preforator (White Flayer battleship). I think my luck is basically nonexistent.

Hey Lathrix, i know you're not playing with detection yet, but i thought i'd inform you of this. i was experimenting with the new Missile Component (Radar Seeker). And they seem Extremely reliable, they ALWAYS lock onto a target, from whatever angle. I've has problems with Infra-Red sometimes that it would not lock onto a target, What i wanted to say basically; The Radar Guided Missiles are something you should maybe consider using.

The only negative about them is that they target random blocks with no way to alter this - this isn't exactly a true negative, but just a difference between that and the laser designation - The only reason I'm not using them in the adventure series is with the detection turned off, they would still work but not require me to actually use any detection gear.. a bit cheaty! :P

+Lathland Yeah true that, Although swarms of them might be effective, as they damage a larger radius, but then as you said, you can't change it so target critical area's. A proposal for an AA cannon on the front of the craft, on the top side, build a small bore (13mm, or .013 on the in game scale) quad barrel cannon with 8 belt fed loaders to keep high rate of fire sustained. For the ammo, go with the 2 part sabot warheads, backed by a solid warhead and then enough powder to keep the shell firing at between 400 and 600 meters per second. Should be able to make that kind of gun small enough that you might be able to fit one on the underside of the hull as well to focus on aircraft below your height as well.

Lathrix I think you should start making the hull bigger and add some swarm missiles or a small advanced gattling gun, because your ship lacks a bit of dps, in my opinion. Love that upload speed btw!

I'd say add a pair of advanced cannons. One on top for anti-missile duty and one on the bottom, possibly towards the front for kicking in teeth duty. You may also want to drop the outboard particle cannons down a bit to allow for better firing arcs. I was seeing the safety kick in every time you were at an angle to the enemy. Also, 'Harvest the Blood Sea'? Unspeakably Metal.

hey lathrix I love that u start playing the survival mode BIG thumbs up. I think you should consider a base defence strategy. what I mean you build a little mining/building fortress on a resource zone and make search and destroy drones to defend u against the increasing enemys. if that would work with the spawning mechanic you mentioned.

Lath u were lucky with the start ,most of the time I just get a lightning hoods flyer spawn after 15 minutes that kills me, the only time I lived was when I was a flyer but I still had to rush a gate that was red

epic !!!! :D , I was thinking, how about putting an AI on your bombs under the heli, they can shoot automatically, put a constraint on them so they fire while above they may over shoot depending on your speed and if so tighten the degree of the constraint. Like this you wont need to do the "ill look down and shoot manually" :p. For the small heli you have, perhaps you may find it more space efficient to make a rail? I say this as due to the space, I cannot see a fast fire ex 60 rounds a min (1 every second) at 250 guage which is quite decent damage from frags of 2-3m shell. This would take up a lot of space. Due to a rail you would probably go for armor pen and perhaps HE (not shaped charge head) for AOE inside the target?. Anyway whatever you do, as long as you upload mowaaaaaar im happy :D

now that you have some precision weapons you may want to try manual aiming again. with the patch they added a lock on feature. Emp popping all the turrets off an onyx watch ship could be really fun! ... and mean.

I'm so happy someone is doing Adventure mode. i only found like 2 people playing it and one is bad at it and not in a fun way. the other is a flat voiced unentertaining person. I still need to figure out how to make a "airship"

TL:DR this game is complex compare to some others. I feel that they're hurting the game by busting down to a single Raw resource. I really think Oil should at least be added back in. Going from 5 resources down to 1 throws you off. I'm a new player, long time watch and it threw me off a little. but you veterans who have been using the 5 raw resources for sometime probably threw you off a bit. I think a little adding would benefit it atm. scrap could easily be the main Resource and then have oil. that would be enough since there is a processed resource. scrap can easily cover the Natural and metal. since there is no processing outside Fuel. another idea would be Scrap and Oil, then have parts and Fuel as processed. Parts could be the gateway for some of the more "machine" like stuff such as the different gun parts, the radar, AI and laser things.

One thing I noticed, when you talked about capturing... Don't most NPC ships possess a heartstone as is? I even think it's one of the requirements for submissions as well that it has a heartstone. So as long as a ship goes AI dead before you cap it, it's relatively safe. Issue being if it's not AI dead that's a bigger problem.

If you need a quick detection system just put a coincidence finer connected to an Ai should be good enough for ships and aircraft. Also the closer to the water you are the more detectable you are, and you should try pressing caps lock to watch weapons hit, like your mines, i dont know if it works in that mode or not. I would recommend not using a cannon though as the last update screwed up their recoil, kind of like explosions.

Also if your adventure craft blows up apparently you lose, even if your alive and you have a near by heart stone. I dont know if this applies if you have more than 1 vehicle as this happened while i was capturing an enemy ship, I also dont know i you can do that since after half an hour i couldnt find a single ai mainframe. Also most if not all of the enemies should have heart stones, at least the 3 ships i went on all had heart stones.

Its the kinetic damage of the shell, the farther the shell travels, the less kinetic energy it has, and so less kinetic damage, but Shells can regan kinetic energy but by falling down.

Lathrix, what is your opinion of the new resource system? I myself personally dislike the new way since it lumps everything into one vague category. And while from the depths isn't very realistic, it was that little bit of realism that I liked, having to manage the different resources and all. Anyone know if I can change the settings back to classic resources (oil, metal, scrap, natural, crystal) rather than just resource? Or do I need to restore FTD to an older version?
