That original ToyBiz torch is still my go-to, hasn't been topped in my opinion. I still have a surprising amount of ToyBiz stuff in my FF collection - Trenchcoat Thing, Franklin Richards, Doombot, invisible Sue Storm, Impossible Man and all the great bases the figs came with!

I'm more satisfied with the Walgreens F.F. than the newer ones. Although the new F.F. are alright too. I think I just like the basic, classic look better. I have to say I'm looking forward to future Fantastic Four assortments for different costumes and all of their cool villains & supporting allies that Hasbro can do. I also want to go on record as saying that I'm very curious as to when & what kinds of Lego sets we might see regarding Both the Fantastic Four & the X-Men! I hope we don't have to wait too long for those!

Walgreens exclusives by far are the best, classic costumes, and extra set of stretched arms for Mr. F, full flame for Torch with flame effects and clear effect hands for Visible Woman

I got the new set and have been extremely pleased. I'm a bigger fan of the classic look of the Walgreens exclusive, but don't feel like paying the prices that I see most people list them for. I'm happy enough with the new set to avoid all of that.

I currently have the Walgreens figures. I might pick up the new ones as well. I've had to cut back on Marvel Legends but it's the whole team in one wave so it shouldn't be too bad. I had the older Toybiz figures. The ones before the Power Hour figures. Human Torch had a flame throwing gimmick in one arm and the flames could be pegged into his back. Thing had "karate chop action" fist smashing in one arm. Mr. Fantastic could stretch out at different spots. At his neck, waist, boots, thighs, gloves and biceps. It was a rather ugly figure once you had him all stretched out since all that was holding the parts together were small square or circle pegs so it looked more like he exploded apart instead of stretched out. The pegs other than the neck and waist ones would break easily too so mine was glued back together at certain joints. They never made an Invisible Woman to go with them so I did actually pick her up from the Power Hour set. Except I had the translucent one as that was all I could find as female figures were scalped to hell back then. I'd see the regular version at flea markets for like $40+. I'm actually amazed I had as many female figures as I did now that I think of it. They were really difficult to find most of the time. Mom pulled through with the Christmas and birthday presents. She also had a shopping buddy that was buying the same things for her son so it was the power of two moms!

Dont have them yet but the Walgreens figures are my favorite. I also had a set that included a .H.E.R.B.I.E., Franklin Richards, and a Dr. Doom along with the Fantastic four and I loved that set

At first I only liked the Walgreens version, but now the new wave has grown on me. they are both excellent and with the addition of the Super Skrull Baf a welcome addition to any collection. I also own the marvel select Thing and that guy is a beast! One of my fav figs ever

I used to own a Human Torch that had "Fireball Throwing Action." It stunk that the right arm was in a fixed bent positioned, but still a cool toy nonetheless and it fit well with my Spider-Man and X-Men figures. Currently, the Walgreens group is actually the first FF figures I have ever bought beyond that one Torch figure. I never really got into FF as a kid outside of the cartoon series (the 90s one, not the terrible one with Herbie), and then Galactus and Silver Surfer, but SS had his own comic series when I was little. However, a few year's back I picked up the three Lee/Kirby Omnibuses and have been slowly making my way through those. I'm a third of the way through Volume 3 and I have to say that the run has been utterly... well... fantastic thus far. As such, I easily snatched up the Walgreens figures when I saw them. I also did pick up the new wave since I really wanted Super Skrull even though Doom was the only figure I truly desired of the 6. However, I actually really like the figures for the new costumes. So much so that I have borrowed the first two paperbacks from the library of the quartet in those costumes as I'm curious to know more about them in those suits. Well that and I want to see them in action even if there isn't anything different about them beyond cosmetics.

I've actually have no issues finding Walgreens exclusives. I even came across the Cuckoos once despite having no interest in them (for me, X-men ended with Age of Apocalypse). I will say that Silver Surfer was a bit difficult, but everyone else I came across with ease and saw multiple times.

Hasbro wins but only because of new techniques in the way toys are made now. Toybiz though, did give you a lot for your money and Hasbro I believe will never beat Toybiz's excellent paint jobs!

Excellent paint jobs? You mean the paint slops and paint chipping issues that toy biz was famous for there marvel legends? it was overkill in most cases. Also the toy biz porportions were atrocious. Twards the end when they were making the legendary comic book heroes there paint jobs were getting much better. If they had survived I can only imagine how good they would have been. But hasbro does and excellent job at that price point.

No one can match MEGO, with tat being said bot sets have thier plus and minus.Toybiz can be a hit or miss. The larger figers in inpentrable plastic packing are pretty good, but for the price I expect more.They dont seem to advance in production. Theyll get a couple fun/awesome things they get right. But people out whar featuers they like to see done. They do but at cost of losing what worked for the other. The face paint on the smaller figuers is sloppy . Ive seen them put rooted hair on a Polly-Pocket why cant do the same here?? The constant cheap/soddy presentation has made me hesitant on anymore. The X-Men box sets. The original five. Jean had rooted hair yeah! Angel howver had a wonky foot pose. Ive also seen them give Mr Fantastic various figuers in several positions. 1) he's just a balll. 2) his arms extend about two to 3 inches and are bendy. 3) the hands can be swaped out...he has regular size hands but also has the exagerated large hands. Invisible Girl/Woman the completly clear figuer YAH but the articulation is bad.she looks like shed riding a horse a shame to. I liked the completly clear IGirl her shields and incisible lobbs spikes.. it would have been cool if they could be fiered.3) Same with Johnny Storm/Human Tourch. Making him able to lob fier ball woud have been cool. I seem to recall a figuer that interchangeble hands and a stand that looked like trail of fier. Alas tis not meant 2b. I actually think hey do that so you have to buy more than one set to get a complete set.
