Purple Dead Nettle grows all over my yard here in Kingston, Tennessee. I let the weeds grow in my yard to feed the bees which is wonderful. When the weeds bloom, my yard if full of different colored flowers from all the different weeds. I will know now how to use the Purple Dead Nettle when they grow back in the spring because of your information. People kill the weeds in their yards to have the perfect lawns, but grass is not good for eating as the wonderful variety of weeds. I have never put pesticides on my yard and the bees come from everywhere to visit my clover and dandelions. Thank you for this video. I loved it. The little purple violets that I saw growing in your yard in this video are great to eat too. I eat them every day that they are in bloom.

Every forager should know these. We're having a wet and cool spring here in Missouri and the greens (weeds) are everywhere. Pokeweed is my favorite, mixed with curly dock, plus a can of store-bought. Gonna get some! Appreciate the scriptures, John.

Just discovered these little gems in my garden two days ago... I've been foraging for them for years and could never find them and now I've been blessed to have them in my garden growing next to my spearmint. They truly are a spectacular looking plant. These would make for great garnishes for drinks although i would feel bad that im wasting them but I think its a great way to introduce people to this plant that theyve probably been mowing in their lawn. Loved the video.. always a treat watching your content. Praise Yahweh.

Well, I would love to, but mainly I found out God has given it to us as one of the most nutritious plant's He created. I mainly cut off the seed part along with the leaf and dry. After say a week I add to top of a cup of steamed white rice with raw organic almonds and organic raisins! A little sea salt and pepper and joila!!! Lunch!!!! I just love dried stinging nettle.

I'd learned about purple dead nettle last year... because it's all over our yard! =) My children and I were outside today; my daughter (5) was pretending to make a salad. I pointed out the wild chives, dead nettle, and dandelions and told her those are actually edible. =) She seasoned her "salad" with dirt, so it was just pretend. lol This video was very informative. Loved the close up shots of the dead nettle. Thank you!

Wanted to review what you had to say about it, because I looked out my backyard window today, and the whole yard was covered with these things!! We had it plowed late last summer to get rid of the blackberries, and this is our new "free" crop! I hope I like it, cuz we sure have a lot of them!
