Honestly it warms my heart, to know that people like my country and our culture, I hope that all you who visit us have a good time.

They were delicious from both places! I just wish we'd eaten more as a Francesinha is so much cheaper in Porto than Lisbon & Portimaõ!

Hahhha... I'm so pleased you enjoyed the video and realised how incredibly delicious this sandwich is! 😋😃😊 I wish we'd tried more than the two shown in this video, but I'd definitely consider going back to Porto just to sample more of these incredible Francesinhas 😁😂

OMGosh I don't think I'd trust myself to drink a pint of an 8% beer! 😂

The Francesinha neutralises the alcohol 😁😊

That sandwich looks amazing - if only I liked beer - you need to do a cider tasting!
@FrugalTravellers3 жыл бұрын
They were both delicious... the one at Nortada had way more cheese so was super indulgent 😁 The only cider here seems to be Somersby... we're sticking to wine now 😃😄

If only I liked wine @@FrugalTravellers - I’ll have to stick with coffee then when I eventually get there! Thanks for another video 🙂

Oh no... Portugal has probably the cheapest wine anywhere we've been... such a shame you don't like it! You can have a bica instead - those tiny coffees that pack such a punch 😁😄 Thank you for your kind comments - it's always lovely to hear from you.

Stumbled across your channel, really friendly couple. Hope you enjoyed Porto and you could have tried the most famous one which is "Café Santiago", probably not the best but definitly worth the money. Cheers!

@Ivo Silva Thank you for your kind words! We loved Porto - I'd gladly go back! We didn't go to Cafe Santiago this time - had received loads of recommendations to go but somehow we ran out of time. We'll definitely go next time. Wishing you all the best for the festive season and the new year!

Pricey restaurant. I didn’t go in when I saw the prices.

Did you order another side of chips after 😂 Fair to say never had a sandwich quite like that before (didn't expect all the filling!) with the gravy/sauce etc., both meals looked top-notch! No.1 perhaps more chain style and the second one more like mamas-kitchen, both still great value. Thanks for sharing 🙂

@Ed Ek Thank you! We'd never heard of these sandwiches before... had put a post on Facebook asking friends for recommendations on Porto, and were told we had to try these! My only regret is in only having the 2... I'd have loved to have tried more but we ran out of time! They're such a great idea 😃😁

Yummy! I had one as soon as I got here. I went to a local hole n the wall restaurant for Euro6.50. It was indeed so delicious but high high caloric.
@FrugalTravellers2 жыл бұрын
Oh, I have Francesinha envy! €6.50 is great value, well done! In Lisbon and the Algarve they start at €8 and go up! For such an awesome experience, calories don't count 😃😉 ~ Mandy

@@FrugalTravellers True. Calories will come off with walking up and down those hills. What a way to lose weight. I know I have…. A pound or two at least. The owners of the restaurant were so friendly and knowledgeable of the history of Portugal which I thoroughly enjoyed after having been at the Museum Aljube in Lisbon and reading a little bit about history of Portugal. It’s very rare that restaurant owners would talk to foreigners so I was very lucky. I tend to go back to this place.

Francesinha is super delicious, just don't buy one in a non-touristy area because you may get stale bread! LOL!

@@FrugalTravellers Or it could be the other way around. I don’t trust tourist restaurant areas, they are usually over priced and not very good. I would trust local people first. The one I had tasted very fresh and very good, esp the sauce.

@@ndevera100 We agree, and steer clear of overpriced tourist restaurants. We look to see where the locals go 😃😁 ~ Mandy

Re the flicker when the lights came on - I think it might have been because you were shooting in 30FPS (I'm one of those people that clicks on stats for nerds). The Alternating current in Europe has something to do with that. I THINK 25 or 50 would be safe? Off the top of my head... 30 or 60 is good for the US. They have a different electricity thingy going on over there. You could Google it.

I'm trying to wrack my brains to remember if there's an additional thing in the settings that stops it as well as just the frame rate... there might be some regional setting or other. I can't remember.
@FrugalTravellers3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The default setting is 60FPS and we tried setting it to 30 but our doddery old laptops couldn't read the file type, so have have just left it as is. Can you recall if any of your videos talk about your GoPro settings? I know you had to return yours, so I really need to check out that vlog next.

Hi there! Have only just seen your question and follow up comments. I hope you enjoy it... remember that you could have wine or beer as your bebida... I had a hangover from the Happy Hour at Nortada so for once had a soft drink instead 😁😂
