In our latest episode of the M2 Podcast, we dive into the FTC's recent crackdown on PC manufacturers ASRock, Gigabyte, and Zotac for using illegal "warranty void if removed" stickers. These manufacturers have been warned to revise their warranty and customer support practices to comply with the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act prohibits conditioning warranties on the consumer's use of specific branded services or parts, unless provided for free or granted a waiver by the FTC. This move by the FTC underscores a significant step towards upholding consumers' right to repair their devices without voiding warranties.
