I have owned multiple Canon cameras over the last three decades and all under $1000 and I had been shooting pretty much in an amateur ways all the way, but now that I wanted to invest four times as much I needed to be sure, six months of search and and reading all kind of reviews finally landed me on a X-T4, and by watching this guy it made me so proud of my decision, it is truly a gem, they have packaged up a lot of goodies in a small package and offering it at a much lower price than others. And this guy really knows his stuff, cheers

This is a rare channel. Actually useful and realistic. Most channels that mention Fuji are either bashing it to protect their known sponsors in the price sensitive segment this camera competes in, or trying to convince us there is something magical about Fuji using nonsense only idiots would buy.

Chris, your vids are an incredible asset to the community at large. Thanks for your efforts. As fate would have it, I was battling OIS myself this week. I think this discussion needs a little clarification (see this video around the 6 min mark) that I was under unaware of until two days ago...and so are MANY others; Pressing the shutter halfway to engage OIS ONLY works in AF-C, NOT AF-S (with IS Mode to Shooting Only). This can be a big issues since at longer focal lengths, OIS may be necessary to help compose in the first place. This is unlike every other camera system I can think of. To get the OIS to engage with shutter button halfway down, you have to go to AF-C. In fact, this is hinted at on page 136 of the manual, but I glossed right over it initially. This really can matter too. In AF-S, the OIS engages just before shutter actuation, and its effects are not visible to the maker. Anyway, try it for yourself. Let me know if I'm missing something. Keep up the good work.

Great video, as usual, brother! I think young photographers should travel back in time to the 70’s or just the 80’s and use tripods of those years. They will find today tripods are feathers and will never leave them behind again. I’ve heard many kids complaining about 5-8 pound tripods or about spending $300 more to shred 1 or 2 pounds of weight to then slap a brick of a head on top of the tripod! Absurd 😂🤣😂🤣😂. Great teachings, thank you for all you do for us!

Usually I always have a tripod with me. When not needed for camera stabilization, it is useful to thoughtfully frame the shot. Besides that, I am always fascinated about the OIS an open aperture abilities the XF50-140 offers for usage without a tripod in twilight conditions. :)

Great content as always. Would it be a stretch to ask for advice on how to light up a setup like yours? I want to do educational videos for athletes on the subject of anti-doping, and atm I have a godox sl120, and another godox led light for the fill light. Both are set to 5200k, and I've manually set my x-t4s white balance.

What is your advice for an XT4 shooting video on a gimbal (weebil S). OIS on, digital stabilisation and boost off?
@stephenschmid4923 жыл бұрын
Excellent video, Chris. One question - if you are on a tripod, but it is windy, it seems like IS should help with that, correct?
@everardopastor3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I love the video! I was just hoping you would include gimbal stabilizers and whether to keep the IBIS on in the camera while using with gimbals. Thx 🙌🏼
@pal2tech3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, gimbal is its own video as there's just too much to go over. However, I probably should have at least mentioned that as an option in this video. I totally missed that one!
@albertobeto81203 жыл бұрын
Great video man!!! Just a few questions, with a camera without IBIS (x-t30), when I select the continuous stabilization I can see in the view finder the difference when turning it off. However for the shooting only option, I can't appreciate the difference on the view finder after half pressing the shutter button. Does the stabilization kicks in when pressing the button? Also, if I have my camera on a tripod in a bit shaking environment, like getting a long exposure on a bridge that has vibrations generated by cars, will keeping the OIS on help reduce that blur? Thanks man!! I've really been learning a lot about my camera from your videos :D

Chris, I would love to know if you have tips for taking self portraits. Specially when you are not so close to the camera. I tried in the street but the wifi conection of my X-T30 is really bad. I relied in the hyperfocal but I needed something with less sharpening.
