Grab a set of dumbbells and join me for this total body "choose your own adventure" workout!
After a warm up we will begin with a simple exercise for the lower body, then an exercise for the upper body. We will then repeat those two moves as we just did them, or at a more advanced level. The second set of all the exercises are presented with a more intense option. You get to decide which level you would like to perform them at.
I'm using a set of 4 pound dumbbells or 2Kgs. Feel free to use lighter or heavier weights to fit your needs. This is also a great workout to return to and increase your weights to build your strength!
The first half of the workout is in a standing position, and the second half is on the floor. The workout is completed with stretching on mat.

I am 66 years old and use your videos for strength training 2-3 times per week. This is one of my favorite so far (and I’ve used many)! I enjoy them all but love that this one was for a much longer duration. Please give us more of these longer workouts! I’ve shared your channel with many of my friends and everyone is a fan!

Did I want to do a 47 minute workout? Oh heck no! Did I trust it would worth every minute? Absolutely! Oh my word! What a wonderful workout! Lauren, I don't know how you do it, but it always seems like the time flies and I can do more than I think I can. Every area that I needed special attention got a great challenge! Yay! I love this weight routine! I especially appreciate what a well-rounded workout this is. It leaves me feeling refreshed and invigorated. PS - I am 71 and do one of your routines 5 days a week. So nice to be able to do barre one day, dance the next, and then weights the following day. Love the variety!

Lauren, your workouts are just perfect for me. Always challenging but doable. (I'm 67) Love your calm, clear tone. And HOORAY for saying in this video "pick your pleasure" rather than "pick your poison" (the more common and awful phrase on workout videos). Your workouts are indeed a pleasure. I've just recently come upon your channel. I just turned 60 and in the last 3 years I've lost 30 pounds. I enjoy these challenging workouts without all the "hype" chatter and loud music. Just simply challenging but yet relaxing. Thank you!

I agree. I'm 60 this year. I try to do these regularly 4/5 times a week and have lost weight too. Like you I love the attention to detail, no loud music or overhyped VoiceOver. Great for women around my age, functional and strengthening. It's my go to channel.

47 and in better shape than my 20s despite health issues. Your channel has absolutely made a huge positive difference. Another great workout! I loved the challenges. Slightly modified the crunches. That sciatic nerve is picky. My strength has improved with the glute bridges. The hip and pelvic workout helps. Thanks again 😊 ❤ 💪

This was great! I alternated between 3lb and 5 lb weights depending on the move. I just had my 68th birthday a week ago and I am definitely in better shape than I was 30 years ago!

I LOVE this workout! It may be my absolute favorite. It was doable, but challenging, and I really appreciate the ways to level up each exercise. 10 reps for each exercise, repeated twice, with the second round offering the level-up opportunities is a perfect format!! Slow and controlled, standing followed by mat, the 47 minute length… All perfect! I’m looking forward to more of these! Thanks!!❤

LOVE the complete workout!! Warmup, muscle work and stretch all in one. It makes it so much easier for my weak will! Love the music, the variety and choice of movements, everything. I need variety, I get bored very easily which has made it difficult for me to stick with exercise programs. If you haven’t already, please make a bunch more of this kind. 😅

Good morning from the north east of England!. Yesterday I achieved my weight loss target of 8 stone which I have lost over the last 16 months. I believe that I would have not have been able to achieve this without your workouts which I have been doing 6 mornings a week for the last 14 months, not only have I lost weight but I am toned, strong, my balance has improved and I can now hike 14 miles up and down hills without feeling I am about to have a heart attack. I cannot thank you enough for your channel which is challenging and offers so may different workouts that I never get bored - this full body strength workout is my Wednesday favourite which is why I'm posting on this one. I have shared your channel with members of my slimming group as they can see how effective it is. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you may be thousands of miles away but you have managed to change my life. I will be eternally grateful. This is now one of my favorite workouts for my all-strength training Tuesdays and Thursdays! I like that you have included floor work as well as standing strength. I also appreciate that, in total, I can get in more than 30 minutes of "strength training." (Even if it is just with my 2 lb. weights, but next time I shall be moving up to 3 or 4 lb. weights!) This is one of my favorite workouts that you do because I can adjust it as needed depending on what my body needs. For example, I usually do this one with 5 lb weights, but today the arthritis in my thumbs was acting up so I did it with smaller 2 lb weights. Still feel like I got a workout in, but my thumbs aren’t screaming at me. Anyway, thank you for everything you do.

I’m going to be starting this workout (I have a few health issues ) in last weekend of June when I’m not rushed. I will make this my daily routine. Thanks for this longer video. I can barely lift my butt off the ground for the glute bridges. Is this normal? Will this become easier over time? I hope so. That’s one thing I’ve seen on your videos that I have a terrible time with. I’m all about getting stronger, so I hope I can improve in this area!

Glad you like the longer video Jeanne. Some people struggle with glute bridges. Try moving your feet closer to you butt, this will give you more leverage. If it still doesn't help, try putting your feet on a wall. Make sure your butt is a foot or two away from the wall and your knees are bent. Give that a try and LMK!

I loved this! I thought 47 minutes would feel really long, but it honestly didn't feel any longer than a 30-minute workout. When the cool-down came, I actually wondered if I had queued up a shorter workout. Now I won't be so intimidated by the longer workouts!

Wow - this was a great workout! I am not - quite - a senior but am getting close but have always worked out. As I get older I find the speed of many workouts just doesn't work for me so your workouts are perfect. They are challenging (I did this one on the weekend and I felt it the next day) without risking injury by moving from one thing to the next too fast. I'm so glad I found your channel! Thanks for what you do.

Another great workout, Lauren! It took me a couple of weeks to psych myself up for a 47-minute workout, but you somehow always make the time fly by. (When I was younger, I considered anything less than an hour not a "real" workout, but I've gotten a little lazy!) I usually dread any repeat sets, but doing the second repetition immediately afterward and giving us a challenging variation kept things interesting. I will definitely add this workout to a playlist to do again. As always, thank you so much!!!

Love this video more like this. I do have a question when you’re laying on your side for your lower body can you put your arm down and just kinda cup your head in it instead of trying to prop yourself up? Thank you for all your GREAT WORKOUTS❤

Thrilled to hear you love it Libby! I'm confused by your question though, in this video we are just supporting our head, and we are not propped up on our elbow at all. Do you mean lay all the way down, so your arm is flat? If so, yes, that is totally fine. :)

Loved this workout...probably my favorite so far. I am 55 and in pretty good shape (prefer using heavier weights). I sometimes have issues with my back and knees (autoimmune disease) so your videos are good and protect my joints. I love working out with weights too....your strength videos with weights are my favs.

Another great workout Lauren! I'mm 77 and I could do it adjusting for my rotator cuff issues. I have definitely become stronger since doing your videos. And I LOVE your plant. It seems to have its own personality.

Wonderful workout, happy I was able to do everything with my 68 yo body with RA and osteoporosis, I love all your videos, especially the weight and band videos. Hi Lauren, I didn't really want to join a seniors or beginners class, as im 53 and used to to pilates 4 times a week, but I developed bursitis in both my shoulders and both hips, so was unable to participate in any of my usual classes. I found you and it is just the right level for me, im hoping to build strength and then will be able to up the weights and improve, thank you so much for these classes!

This is definitely a new favorite Lauren. I previewed it when it first came out but was scared of the longer length and thought it would be too hard but it was very doable as I only leveled up where I could. You are right it is a good one to come back to. It went very quickly.

Super workout. Like others I really enjoyed the longer routine. The more I read and listen the more important it seems strength training is for our longevity and brain health. There’s a fascinating podcast by the. ZOE Science and Nutrition peeps on this with Dr Andy Galpin.

liked that this was 45mins and offered various choices to level up...one thing i noticed was the volume of your voice could be louder-i kept increasing on my end-ads after were extremely loud....thanks for all these great workouts!!

I love this workout and all the Lauren workouts I have tried over the past couple of years. One note: A safer alternative to the "skull-crusher" move for triceps (it makes me nervous) is the overhead pull, so you just touch the floor just above your head instead of touching the weights to your forehead.

Love this one, Lauren! Agreed, more longer duration classes. I was so surprised how much stronger my left shoulder was than my right….in the one move on the floor for rotator cuff…..Gives me something to shoot for: more balanced strength . Thank you❤!

THanks for these videos - I have only recently begun as a beginner and ,ow level weights.. Can you tell me at what pace I should increase the weights of the dumbells?

Great question Sue. The simple answer is as you are able! When the exercise starts to feel easy or like you could keep doing them for several more reps, then you know it's time to increase your weights. Keep in mind when you go heavier, you may have to slow down and do fewer reps to make sure you keep proper form.

Yep - did this one today for a longer workout - and it was! Whew - but I did it. I like All your exercises and instructions but because I wear hearing aids - I don't like the music with drumbeats in. This one had more than the others I have done.

This s another one of my fav workouts! It's so exciting to be able to tell I'm getting stronger and have more range of motion in my trouble areas. I experimented with small yoga ball under my lower back and it made lots of positions easier, less pressure on (sway) lower back. Great flexibility and strength workout!

With my shoulder and arm issues,what do I do if I am not supposed to lift arms overhead? That is why I stopped my Pilates and exercise classes, thus leading to weight gain, but what do I do regarding strengthening exercises?

Just modify and only go as high as your mobility allows. Maybe add more bicep curls or tricep kickbacks.
