This is literally a circus. It is a national embarrassment and it shows why it is so important to vote. Yes, the voters did not vote Tiffany in office as Supervisor. However, they can vote her out in less than a year. In my opinion, the whole board need to be voted out. Anybody who voted for that budget should be voted out in February 2025. Here is the loophole to help these people! Tiffany has crossed line of conflict by paying the mayor meeting for Dalton with Thornton's money. This needs reviewed by superiors. Holding Two Positions Nothing in the Act or its conflict-of-interest rules prevents a public official from seeking or holding a particular employment position, whether public or private. A conflict of interest may arise only after a person takes office and is dependent on that person’s conduct subsequent to taking office. (Eldridge v. Sierra View Hospital District, 224 Cal. App. 3d 311 (1990).) A conflict of interest does not prohibit a person from seeking or holding office. Rather, the conflict-of-interest provisions of the Act prohibit a public official from participating in a decision that will have a financial effect on his or her financial interests. This prohibition is applied on a decision-by-decision basis. For information about financial conflicts of interest under the Act, refer to Conflicts of Interest.
