The 4 Types of Tweets You Should be Posting on Twitter According to a Brand Strategist | Full Sail

Most users think of social media as a tool to promote themselves; in this video Brand Strategist Phil Pallen provides four types of tweets that you should be posting to Twitter - with only one, ‘Website Link,’ being used as a tool to communicate your own brand. As he explains, social media is not a tool for broadcast, it should instead be used as a means for conversation. By using a ‘Website Link,’ it draws the audience in longer than self-promotion would. Using the ‘Quick Question’ framework as a sole way to engage allows the content creator the ability to be on or off-brand, while ‘Industry Buzz’ is an opportunity for you to reinforce the fact that you are an expert in the field you are promoting yourself in it also provides users tips and can subsequently grow your audience through retweets. Finally, Phil talks about how ‘Networking Effort’ should be the reason you are on Twitter - to meet new people and create brand awareness.

Incredible video, here are a few take-aways I got! how often should I tweet - At least 4 times a day - Schedule a week in advance - Interact real time WL - Website Link - 1/4 tweets should be about me - Attach to something I have created. - Take them somewhere you can engage with them further. - A blog post - product - something created - Ideally you want to have a link QQ - Quick Question - on brand - "what social media platform drives you nuts" - off brand - Coffee or Tea? - Not everything I tweet is about my brand IB - Industry buzz (most retweets) - I am expert - Simple Actionable - Statistics - Anything that reinforces that I know information to whatever it is I am doing NE - Networking Effort - Meet new people - Start a conversation - Compliment people - Put thought into your NE tweets - Make it retweet-able - “hey so and so, I love your book about [topic], this really spoke to me and I am inspired.” You have helped me tremendously and I can't wait to apply this.
