I just made this and as soon as I finished LICKING my plate, I decided to write a review! When I followed Kristina's recipe to a T, it was bland. I guess you'll love her version if you've been raw for a while. If you're new to this way of eating or like me, just checking it out, it lacked something. Here's what I did, I added: - 1/2 clove of garlic - 1/4 tsp salt - fresh ground pepper - 1/8 tsp Paprika Its Gold Jerry, Gold! At first I decided to lightly cook my zoodles. It was good but when I tried the zoodles uncooked, again it was Gold Jerry, GOLD! Thanks for the inspiration Kristina!

I have been raw for almost 6 years, and I would add the black pepper, NO salt, possibly more garlic( 2-3 cloves ) than she did, and some home dried cayenne. Make it work for you.
@armywife22485 жыл бұрын
So add one and a half cloves of garlic? She added one, so I'm guessing that wasn't enough. I love garlic, so I will do two whole cloves, lol!

To anybody who makes this, add salt because without it, it doesn't taste like anything. Also, the avocado is a little too rich so i'd only do one half of an avacoado. It was prety good and I'm not even a vegan.
@irenelealortiz8 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much!! I'd give it a try!
@Natasha364748 жыл бұрын
Gurl, you'd add salt instead of a whole avocado cause it's so rich? Nonsense.
@smallfootprint29618 жыл бұрын
Might be a good idea for those who aren't used to low/no salt. There is so much great sodium in plant food that after a while your taste changes but, at first, you might need to sprinkle on some when served. Plant based docs recommend not cooking with it and giving yourself that salt taste at the table to satisfy that familiar taste. See drmcdougall.com for one.

Using sun-dried tomatoes really helps!!! It's a more complex savory flavor and has a ton of lycopene that helps prevent cancer. Or nutritional yeast! Get them sweet cheesy B vitamins (get the ones that is fortified with B12)!

Talk about bomb! I love this. I also used a cheese shredder ands laid the zucchini down long ways ands still achieved Zoodles! Thanks so much! I really love this!

For those of you that are not fully raw but want to eat low calorie diets I made some modifications if you can't go the fully "raw" way. To take off the raw edge I lightly cooked it my znoodles for only a couple of minutes and added salt and pepper. The basil is great but it was too strong when I did it. To dim it down I added Parmesan cheese and a little bit of vegetable broth according to taste. It dims it down so it isn't so strong and gives it a slightly better texture. I got rid of the pine nuts and used only half a avocado to minimize calories. I could not believe how much it tasted like pesto. But if your having issues with the overpowering basil, chicken broth and Parmesan will be a life saver.

I kept the Basil and added Nutritional yeast, oh ya, and one more clove of Garlic! Oh ya, and a dash of Hemalayan sea salt! that did it for me, Delicious, but I couldnt eat 5 zuchinni's I used 3. Delish!

Chopstick etiquette: When setting down your chopsticks, never stick them into your food. If you stick them in the food so the chopsticks stand up, it will represent your tombstone! Death = bad! I think I will try this but with real noodles
@mariabardo73479 жыл бұрын
It won't be on the raw concept, but yes you can do this with regular noodles. Just boil your noodles in vegetable broth and water. Then follow the recipe. I will try with cool noodles first since the zucchini noodles featured on this video are probably at room temperature. I do not know if the hot temperature from cooked noodles may affect the sauce.

That'an italian-genoese dish (except the avocado).. why do you eat it with chinese sticks??
@gen28188 жыл бұрын
they're not Chinese sticks they're chopsticks.
@princessmanga28 жыл бұрын
You ask why we vegans eat noodles and pasta with chopsticks, the answer is simple. Why not use chopsticks? 😊 it's also easier to twist more noodles around onto the sticks than with a fork when you know how to use them properly. I've seen a Chinese guy twirl his entire bowl onto his chopsticks and eat it all in one go. So the answer is it's easier for some people and more aesthetically pleasing to look at and use than a boring fork haha

+LycieLouOnline 'We vegans' You don't have to be vegan to eat pasta with chopsticks.
@gianfrancow28508 жыл бұрын
no way.. as Italian I believe the fork is the perfect tool for spaghettis.. you just have to know ho to handle it. and most of americans just can't.. sorry but it's true.
@kathrine77648 жыл бұрын
+Gianfranco T it doesn't have anything to do with were you live 😂 chopsticks can be easy, forks can be easy... Also word of the wise, make sure you know what something is called before calling it an actually quite racist name 😂

You are awesome! My husband I had vary bad eating habits and tried changing are habits so many times but nothing would stick for the long term. Now I believe it was because the change we made ware to drastic for us plus you must learn to cook all over again so is not boring and you can get a well rounded balanced nutrition. With that sed we started watching your videos and incorporating one new dish every week. This also helped us learn how to shop for healthy items on a budget and choosing a new dish kept it exiting. We sill are working on it but I must say most of are meals are "new" and healthy and we dont crave any of are old foods and feel so much better specially after each of us have lost like 15lb without feeling like we are dieting. This avocado basil pesto is are next one and I am so exited because we love pasta and this looks so GOOD! TANK YOU!

I just use the nutri bullet. It helps with grinding and making the sauce and juicing. Then for the spiral thing. I just went to Walmart and got one for 14 bucks. It's an hour glass shaped ine.

Looks good, and healthy. But shredded zucchini is not pasta. Not even close. Dear vegan people: stop calling stuff "roast" or "pasta" and so on. Make up new words.

daniela carrera there's this great option called "fast-forward view" by sliding your finger along the streaming feed at the bottom of the screen. You can easily find and cut to the section that you want to watch (ie. the ingredients). You might want to try it. ;) Kristina! You speak just enough! Great job! ☆

Not to mention the disgusting baby voice. When I hear creamy, savory, free, gooey, and her larynx is so high it almost comes through her nasal cavity, it feels like a knife going through my head. Too bad, looks like some great recipes, but until she goes to a speech pathologist, I can't watch another video.
@smallfootprint29618 жыл бұрын
It's great information so maybe you can read the subtitles and bypass the sound of someones voice that bothers you so much. I like to turn on the subtitles when someone calls on the phone.
