Has anybody had swallowing trouble from their tongue tie, and did swallowing improve for you after getting this procedure?

She had a posterior tongue tie, right? Because I had a frenectomy and I still cannot lift up my whole tongue. I can lift the far back and the tip of my tongue. Figuratively speaking my tongue looks like a wave when I try to stick my whole tongue on the palate. If feels like the mid-section of my tongue is glued to the bottom of my mouth. How is does this particular surgery solve this problem? Do you cut the whole frenum in order to release it from the bottom of the mouth or how exactly is it done?

Der Pferdeflüsterer I exactly have the same problem. I did the tongue tie surgery 5 months ago. And my articulation and speech started worsening when the frenulum grew back. Did you have the same thing? My surgery was anterior not posterior. Probably I need to do the posterior one

@@rakanalmahasher2719 Yes I also had a anterior tongue tie surgery, but I did it not because I had speech problems (I didn't developed speech problems either) but more because it felt weird and I developed wrong swallowing and tongue-resting patterns. Unfortunately many dentists don't know about the (often not directly visible) posterior tongue tie. I don't know where I can find someone who knows about this topic in Germany :/ Can I ask where you are from?

@@derpferdeflusterer3460 After surgery I now feel like I am choking when I am asleep, the back of my tongue crashing into the bell of my throat. The same thing happens to you or only to me?

Der Pferdeflüsterer What did you notice when you had the tongue tie release ?Did you have more control and mobility of the tongue coupled with the fact that you didn’t need to overly enunciate your sentences just for the sake of clarity and ensuring you get heard clearly and in a succinct way .?

@@OnePiece-os3pe mobility for sure. I could touch spots with the tip of my tongue I've never touched before. Mobility improved also a bit, but nothing life-changing. However, overall Im happy I've done this (surprisingly painful) surgery.
