Let me offer an important tip. When mixing custom colors, and or custom clears. Keep some extra in a separate jar for touch ups just in case. I mixed up a custom purple for a buddy's custom Merc. It came out great. A couple days later, I was doing some painting, and dumped what was left of the paint in the same waste jar that I dumped the leftover purple into. So, I then get a call from my friend, asking if I still had any of that purple left over. He had dropped the hood and chipped the corner. So, lesson learned, keep Your extra custom mixes, just in case.

Have you tried adding the Pearl x in with the color enamel paints? The enamels have more clear in them than the base coat, of the base coat, clear coat system's.
