I’ve been in a 18 delay! I understand the frustration whole heartedly, but, there is no excuse to treat the air line workers like that. I remember treating the workers with respect and eventually one was even nice enough to give me a first class trip back to Chicago. Kindness begets kindness.

This just happened with me with JetBlue. I had to wait at the airports for over 23 hours because they kept delaying and cancelling my flights. I hadn't had seen my mom in over five years, and I missed a whole day with her due to the delays and cancels. I was so angry but I didn't freak out like this crazy Karen. I kept my calm and stayed polite, even though I was so angry and hurt and tired.

If they have told her there was no flight she could have been able to cancel her cruise booking or find another flight asap. After 12 hours her tone was not wrong....she was demanding the truth. After 12 hours I am sure that plane had been diverted to it's next destination as to not hold back air traffic every where else. I am sure the airline was aware there would be no flight that day but canceling a flight would cost them in food and hotel vouchers. The longer they wait to cancel the more potential a passenger will find their own solution. There should be federal laws restricting airlines on how long a flight can be Considered "delayed" before it most be cancelled. I think 4-6 hours should be the max.

Chloe G flight #1 took forever to take-off because the people putting luggage's under the plane were super slow. Then, our flight was super long. when we got into North Carolina, we had to legit RUN ( I sprang my foot also ) to flight #2, to only be told that they already closed the plane! Flight #1 caused us to be 10 min late, and we were left there until morning. It was irritating :/

@@cccvvv630 She is in fact yelling at the wrong person. This lady (the worker) is most likely a regular employee (Not management) which means she has no say so/doesn't control anything. When youre a basic employee and management tell you to do something, you're expected to do it if not, you will face consequences. The lady was simply doing what she was told to do.

Imagine her telling them “the truth” and saying there is no flight and then suddenly her superiors resolve the issue and the flight is back on?? Sorry but I'm on the lady's side on this one. 12 hours is more than enough for someone to lose their patience! The airline company and employee should have better communications and tell the passengers exactly what's going on. The thing with delays is sometimes instead of truthfully telling passengers "oh your flight is delayed for ____ hours, they tell you its delayed for an hour and then after an hour they say its delayed for another hour and so on...

Lee MinHye Last spring break I was flying to New York City from Chicago with my family and they said there was a 45 minute delay and ended up being a 5 hour. I notice that they won’t give you the real time they’ll keep saying 30 minutes or 45 minutes until it all adds up.

Same for me as well, whenever I travel alone I’d always have to ride AA because I get free plane ticket but I’ve almost always been on a delayed flights. The craziest thing that happened to me was when they made us switch gates for many times and then after like 7 hours of waiting, they told us it was delayed ‘till tomorrow because they couldn’t find a pilot to take over 🤦🏻♀️

Chris That's not the issue. The isue is that the passengers weren't given information on what was going on. They didn't know if the plane was there or not, or when it was getting in. If they just said "due to weather you kight have to wait hours to get on the plane" clearly with the lady calling them a liar, they probably kept saying "ypu can board soon, in an hour or two" rather than the truth of "we don't know when the plane will be here b/c if the weather"

@@PopuleuxMusic no, we have standards in aviation. if the weather is so severe or a storm hit NOTAM is issued and we cancel all flights. in this case the airline simply didn't wanna lose money by refunding all those tickets. If the flight is cancelled passengers have option to fly from other airports or just go home and fly the following day instead of waiting at the airport for 12 hours. in europe you get €300 - €600 for a delay more than 3 hours so that you can't play with people's money instead just cancel the flight

I agree. The employee probably tried to get ahold of someone higher up but was told to do what she did or perhaps never even got instructions on what to do. I do feel bad that those people had to wait 12 hours but the empolyee herself probably spent 12 hours answering questions she doesn't know and dealing with mad customers yelling at her and stuff like that.

Interviews with other passengers indicated that communication from airline staff was very scarce, and that very little sympathy or consideration was given. Tension and irritation was high among passenger, many of whom were on the same boat as the mother. It was the mother who was the first to break down. This would not have escalated so badly if the airline was actually competent in communicating with the passengers and kept them inform of the situation.

brownbear Some of us were there. The staff were acting crazy and impatient when anyone asked about the flight. They wouldn't tell anyone anything and went off on some people. This girl finally lost it. She was probably one of the people who were yelled at by the staff. Of course the person didn't start recording until the lady got angry. Truth is, a lot of us were angry.

I get it have patience, but when you miss a cruise you have to meet it at the next stop, which is $$$ and You will not be repaid that $2,400 you’ve paid for the day that you missed. That’s a lot of money to be out and not getting answers for. She probably wanted them to just say “we don’t have any flights, but let’s rebook you on a different flight to the next stop of your cruise”

In my opinion she was right to complain loudly after waiting 12 hours. In fact I believe people deal with airline delays far too leniently. People should give a reasonable ultimatum of one hour after which they should demand to be dealt with according to their needs. Some will go to an hotel, some will be transferred, some will ask for their money back, etc. Don't accept any delays from the airlines. They sure don't accept any delays from you. The managers of these companies don't give a damn about their passengers until they have a "riot" at the gate, at which point they'll start reacting. Don't be a sheep. Don't be embarrassed to ask for the airlines to keep their end of the contract. You a paid good money and should be taken care of.

+DannyThePilotGaming Nothing in this video points to a storm. If the lady is going on a Disney cruise then a blizzard is excluded and I doubt an hurricane is the problem. No other type of storm disrupts flights by 12 hours. In any circumstance if there is such a severe storm people shouldn't be kept waiting in a terminal indefinitely. They should be dealt with according to their needs.

You can see the nine year old going towards her big sister for comfort, and the thirteen year old reaching to calm her mother... those poor kids. Their mother's outburst was probably more stressful and upsetting than anything.

K_e!th. 121 I’ve been in a situation like this with my mom and my triplet nieces who were 2yrs old. They kept telling us not to worry and we waited 6 hours! I was so mad because if they were honest we wouldn’t have had to take turns running back and forth with the babies to get them food and take them to the bathroom. This very nice man was helping us and yelled at the lady because he knew the stress we were under. I understand it wasn’t exactly that persons fault, but I’ve learn that the workers come and go without caring about the people. So obviously someone is gonna get yelled at

Travelling is stressful. I understand why the mother was angry. She wasn't getting any information. But I'm also with the kids being mortified. If I was in the same position I'd be standing back as if we didn't know each other.

The only thing she did wrong is that she's yelling at the wrong person. Other than that she's completely justified. -made to wait 12 hour delay + drive to airport/being there early -money can just go down the drain for cruise if they aren't able to fly -no definitive answer if there's a flight so she doesn't even know to book another one

I’m with “Karen” on this. Those scumbags cancelled her flight, and instead of owning up to their ineptitude, they scummily made everyone wait there for 12 hours by deceptively making them think a flight would commence soon. Glad to see most of the commenters here agreeing with “Karen.”

You clearly have no idea how airline operations work. Those "scumbags" aren't the ones making decisions. They're being told by operations whether or not the flight will be delayed or canceled. They're the messengers, not the decision makers. Learn how things work before you go around insulting actual human beings, not employees

General working class people work their life off to get themselves and their children that much needed vacation.The employee is the only gateway to the airlines, and yes when you work in the front desk, sometimes you have to take the heat, and one has to understand that the frustration is not directed at employees, but the situation.Just because books tell us to be patient all the time does not mean reality goes away, people get frustrated when they have it enough.

Prakash Aryal the airlines cannot control the weather. It is common sense to arrive a day early when flying to a time sensitive vacation. The Airlines remained watching the weather hoping to simply have a delayed flight, but ultimately had to cancel. It is understandable to be frustrated, but her child begged her to stop. I think she wanted a normal mom even more than a Disney cruise. Screaming does not help. Even if the airlines could control the weather and were just trying to ruin her vacation maliciously, her lack of character only will forever be in her child's mind. What is really more important here: her suntan or learning to communicate effectively, which has the best shot at positive results.

There was no flight. She has the right to know there is "NO FLIGHT". She did book her flight the day before. There " WAS NO FLIGHT" AND THEY DIDN'T TELL THEM for, at least 12 hours. Poor customer service.

AA has had many of these happen where they don't want to cancel flights because they'd have to refund passengers. They come up with excuses all the time. I saw a video where a guy was vlogging and was delayed until 6 am when he had a like 7 pm flight. He even talked to another passenger who had 4 cancellations or delays in one day and missed his connecting flight because of it.

Well the trouble is that when they have a delay for that long connection flights can be missed and a lot more money has to be paid and that lady was mad because she was missing the cruise and it wasn’t going to be there the next day so she would miss it completely

I am willing to bet for the whole 12 hours they kept just pushing the time back by 30 to 45 minutes telling everyone they would be leaving soon. can you imagine 12 hours of them constantly feeding you false information well knowing the whole time of the flight wasn’t going to go?
