The story is very basic, but the emotional investment is way higher than In Shadowlands. Plus, HOLY SHIT do these draconic enemies look amazing, Iridikron in particular feels like a draconic version of Medivh and I love It.

The expectation bar is now high considering they can’t really bs/fumble around with story alot like back in say cata, warlords, bfa and last expansion. Side thing: why not the other expansions isn’t messy? Bc never played, wotlk I joined like 6 months before cata release. Based on what I seen and played Warcraft 3 it’s tie up loose ends from that game. Cata with not much loose ends left from wc3 kinda got sloppy when they revamped stuff. Mists of pandaria was expected since wc3 wifh rexxar storyline in it and meeting Chen stormstoure. Plus oriental themes in fantasy have a history of being bit offensive or wrong features so they for sure had an culture consultant to watch over things for MoP development to some degree. Warlord… is just a mess in general. Legion fans knew of the long history of the titans and sargeras so have to tell it well enough despite some hiccups. Then bfa and shadowlands was chaotic in general for the story.

To be fair, most dragons of a given flight tend to refer to the Aspect as their mother/father, even when they're not actually the direct parent.

Yes they are almost all offspring of the Aspects, even tho indirectly. Only the very very old ones - those already alive before they were turned into dragons, would be parents of few unrelated generations.

I find the story good. Most nay sayers are expecting Arthas/ Thrall/ Illidan kinda lore but forget those lores where embedded in old strategy games and current exp packs and coming ones wont have that luxuary. @@hisnotsolonely2961 The Old Gods were literally embedded into the earth of Azeroth itself. Therefor, many beings in tune with the earth itself were able to feel the touch of the Old Gods. That includes Neltharian, and possibly Iridikron as well. How else could he have gotten knowledge about Neltharian's darkest secrets that not even the Aspects knew about?
