One of the major details the show kind of glossed over about why Joffrey hates Sansa so much is because of the incident with Arya and Nymeria, he couldn't keep up the act of being a heroic tough prince anymore, where she hung on his every word, she saw he was really just a cowardly punk and in his mind pitied him, and so once he's in this position of power he keeps trying to exploit that to regain the feeling of control

Yeah YG will be betrothed to Arianne but call it off, and for him it will be a huge deal but it characterizes him as a duty > love type (every character ends up having to make a choice like that, choosing not to marry her will be his). Then he marries Sansa, who holds the keys to possibly three kingdoms. Sansa becomes the younger more beautiful queen (IMAGINE the look on Cersei’s face when Sansa pulls up with some young promising king who looks like Rhaegar lmao), Sansa has Aegon execute Littlefinger (plus no better way for YG to make a statement as a beloved but powerful ruler) Sansa fights Dany (the show definitely didn’t come up with that).

I think Sansa will eventually become a Good Queen Alysanne 2.0. Her inner Stark identity is quite strong, and her quote "If I am ever a queen, I'll make them love me" seems like a foreshadowing.

Gurm's depiction of knights us an allegory for cops in the real world, you cant change my mind. Noble knights sworn to protect the innocent but who actually only protect the rich and powerful, and even hurt people put of pleasure/indifference sounds very similar to the police.

The Huorns sorta showed up in the extended edition of The Two Towers, when the Uruk-Hai are being chased into the forest, which has been steadily on the march as noticed earlier by Pippen and Merry. The Uruks get chased into the forest, Gandalf and Eomer call off their men, and then we hear a bunch of screaming from the forest, as the Uruk-Hai are essentially genocided off the face of the earth by the Huorns

Have you thought about looking into Elden Ring lore connections? Most of the game's fandom does not seem at all into it and do not give a crap about George. I think this is a real shame because I believe there is a lot of potential there that is going overlooked. There's a character who halts constellations with gravity magic (altera the seasons), an ancient race with alabaster skin that were awoken by a comet long ago, the corpse of a dead demigod whose face is manifesting itself in the roots of trees that seem to be connected across the continent, a sword wielding girl trained by a mentor who is said to have a water dancing style to sword fighting, a boy who was assimilating himself into the a tree (is currently unconscious held in stasis within a cacoon) but is being fed blood against his will. Stuff like that. Oh, and a guy who labeled as committing blasphemy and turns himself into a monstrous abomination for the proud of devouring the gods (who I think is like what Euron will become)

I wonder if part of the reason the Starks dont have a lot of extended family because they have a tradition of sending their second and third sons to join the Watch or other institutions that don't allow marriage and children (Bran dreaming of joining the Kingsguard for example). Starks seem to have very strong 'serve the realm' / 'pursue valor' mindset so it makes sense that the starks that can't become Lord of Winterfell wouldn't necessarily want to become just another petty Lord.

Hey ASX ! The war of the Roses is one of the inspirations for aSoIaF ; the other MASSIVE influence is « the Accursed Kings » by Maurice Druon ; about the French Middle Ages. It also has a lot of rumours of poisoning, Mahaut D’Artois who was a prototype of hyper ambitious conniving Duchess aiming for her line on the throne, accused of black magic etc… The kings were said to have been cursed when they had the grandmaster of the Knight Templars at the stake, and the latter is said to have shouted from the pyre «your line be cursed, I summon you, the pope and his legate to face God’s judgement before a year is over ! ». And all three died within the year, and so it was said that the Capetian line was cursed. And indeed they all met pretty horrible ends. It’s a fantastic classics, and I can’t recommend you the book enough !

you are wrong about Tyrion man. its not about his power at all. he has none. he uses the illusion of power. nobody fights for him alone. they fight for his family. his father, sister, brother and nephew all hold his life in their hands the entire time. he protects Sansa because he knows Jon and Ned are good men. and he's willing to die and come to terms with death fighting for what is right. but his fight is asymmetrical compared to the strong man or the wealthy head of a house.
