Your first few minutes are extremely funny. Cheers for that

Thanks, Paul! Very thoughtful and thorough review! It really helped to see how the game played too. You managed to give me a good idea of the mechanisms and components without bogging down the review with a full teach of the game. I'm new to your channel but I'm sold on it.

this is our nr. 1 game for the moment, still after many plays. The more you play, the better it gets

Fantastic. I love this one. I’ve played it more than any other game this year

Spot on about forgetting little things. Every damn time I play, I forget to put down new tech tiles, draw a card matching the dice or draw ravagers after playing a card. I think while the iconography is there, it's either small and unobvious (tech tiles) or it's just not reminded as a part of the action (ravagers or drawing a card) unless you follow the player aid. Maybe I'll get there eventually.

Weird, i found a copy of this on heavy discount because it has a small dent in the box. Didn't know it had sold out everywhere

Its still on my SHELF OF WONDERS! And I really need to get to it, but there are others on there as well, Brass, Troyes, Castles of Burgundy and more. (Oh, lol, this is my personal account, J from 3mbg)

I can't see the link to the BGG discussion on differences with Troyes?

How does one know which version to buy (for the updated rulebook)?
@GamingRulesVideos4 жыл бұрын
I don't know, sorry. Later printings had the better rulebook, but you might find someone selling an original print run and you wouldn't know.

If a rule book is bad it should be called out.
@GamingRulesVideos4 жыл бұрын
It absolutely should. It's the only way publishers will listen and hopefully improve.

Hi Paul,, Do you recomend to buy this game for solo only?
@GamingRulesVideos4 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I'm not sure. The solo game was nice, but I'm not sure I would buy the game only to play solo. However, I know people who have, so ultimately that is your call. If it helps, I have done a solo playthrough of the game on my channel, so you can see how it plays out. :)

I hated the insert soo much. For an 80+ dollar game I would have preferred a functional insert that doesn't result in every cardboard piece larger than the tech tiles just piled on top all willy nilly. I don't need Gametrayz but that 2x2 square insert makes no sense. And yeah, the rulebook isn't great basically because of the layout - some key concepts are hard to find. That's what I get for early adoption I guess (picked it up at Gen Con). Maybe I'll grab the new edition. I still prefer Troyes since it plays quicker and just seems more streamlined. But have really enjoyed Black Angel the 2-3 times I have played it.

I don't think the game looks great. Too much of the imagery does not have boarder transitions - its just one dominant color next to another really dominant color. The lack of smoot transitions gives me the impression of this being a draft version. The colorscheme also is hard to look at for me. When i first looked at the Box it was hard to tell what the 'Black Angle' was. I still can't really tell which direction it is traveling on the image because there are distortions one direction and a pink beam in the other. I was at Spiel 2019 and the people i talked to also said that it looked a little wired. Not saying it is objectively bad, but it is not objectively good looking either.

2 whole pages of clarifications? _Looks over at the 12 pages of rules and 3 pages of glossary for 7 Ages_ . . . _Looks over at the 107 page Nit-Picker' Guide to 7 Ages version 2.2_ Uhhh... yeah, that's just horrible.
