Your Paprika Rose on the video looks like a terra cotta color. Perhaps one thought would be to get a terra cotta large planter that you turn on its side and bury a little, like its spilled over and then plant the area where it looks like its spilling. The pot could even be something broken that might be thrown away. Maybe put this at the front of this walkway in the middle of the foxgloves so the color of the terra cotta speaks to the Paprika Rose. I like structures placed in the beds to provide a surprise of interest along with the plants. Like your parent's property, it is always fun to be surprised when you go into different rooms of the garden. Have you thought about making an entry into this side of your house so its more of a surprise? Perhaps an old iron gate to enter and travel down the sidewalk just behind the heuchorah and then something in the grassy spot on the left of the sidewalk as a focal point. Maybe a concrete or terra cotta statue or a one sided fountain or a small pond/waterfall. Just something to be totally surprised when you enter through the gate. You could put another gate at the end of the sidewalk before going into your backyard as well.

I like the orange plant there. I honestly think nothing can compete with the gorgeous red colors. When your eye sees the red pop so much, especially where the pine is a backdrop for it, it's the showstopper! Maybe something a bluish/purple something in front of the orange. Contrasting colors pop more & then maybe you'll like the orange better. Really, they're flowers....all pretty and gorgeous!

Yay! You gave us a bite-size tour. Keep them coming. That's a manageable size tour. Laura, I know you lean towards cool colors (so do I) , but I have to say the apricot/orange rose looks nice, especially since you have the amber heucherella nearby ( the only plant whose variety you didn't mention). Actually, I thought the white phlox was, visually, more jarring, as well as the red (RED?!) coleus...but that's an annual.

I understand and can appreciate why you want to go through each bed and talk about each plant but Laura, please understand, a LOT of us want a full garden tour where you do that (and yes, it would be four hours long), but maybe you could break them up into four separate videos? I don't know. I know, I know, we're greedy but that bed alone is exactly why we watch your channel. And yes, I agree with Aaron about the oh so easy rose (although there are others in the oh so easy series I like better). The delphiniums look amazing as do the fox gloves and the heather and the salvia, etc. And as someone who is critical of the overuse of white, I LOVE the phlox (when mixed in with lots of color). Just beautiful. Nicely done. Can't wait for the full tour! Thanks!

Going by the color settings on my computer, the paprika rose and the Japanese maple look like anchors. The coleus, so close to the rose, reminds me of a (any? all? pick one?) video, where you describe the edges of a plant's bloom matching another plant's foliage.

Love, love, love, the randomness of your side garden! Not just the colors, but the variety of textures and heights.
