Love his channel and all the depth and breadth of information he provides. I recently saw something about freeze-curing elsewhere on KZbin. Having trouble finding good/reliabe info on it. Maybe something to cover in a talk if you can find a good source?

I just realized this is 2yrs old, as I'm reading the comments, lol. Noticed I'd seen it, but figured it was recently. I've been subscribed to both channels for as long as I can remember (almost 8-10 years..?!🤔). Not much has changed since this episode, really. Now, you can always tweek around with little things (knobs to dim/raise however many different colors. Individually set by you). Oh, and a hundred pre set spectrums. Even HPS, MH, CMH and more! With lots of Samsung 2390b+Diodes. Several per Watt, which run much cooler and cover more area than 2-3 Samsung LM301H Diodes. Thanks again for the great interview Chris. It really stands the test of time, and what I've experienced in real life lately!👍💯✌️

Great episode! Shane seems a good guy...the fact he's sold many lights for other manufacture's by way of his reviews. Instead of saying his brand is the only way..seems he just wants people to get a light..any quality light and get growing for themselves. Hope you got him to hook you up with one of his lights and put it through a grow for us! ✌️

What I see and hear from Shane, on MIGROW-KZbin channel is somebody who has an understanding of the technicalities of providing adequate lighting for the plants. This is how we are able to then grow as a community, into the next level of discovery.

I completely agree, I stumbled across migro by looking up grow light reviews and par mapping and now Ive watched every video he has put out more than once. Reviews and instructional videos have become my new tv. I spend more time on youtube looking up new methods, reviews, problem-solving vids etc. Indoor growing has really taken leaps and bounds over the last 15 years. When I first got into it, everything was ungodly expensive. Knowledge about photosynthetic active radiation was limited at best, and it was trial and error until you found something that worked for you. People like shane have really made indoor gardening so much more accessible and while its not black and white yet, understanding what you need out of your components is so much easier to understand now than ever before and this info is freaking free!

@curtismajeskie3419

Its easier than you think. I thought Id never get into indoor horticultural because of how expensive it is, but its actually cheaper now than ever and no matter what you plan on cultivating its worth it. If you're working on a budget just buy each component separately. You can get an itemized list of what comes in a complete kit and plan out what you want to do from there. Thats exactly what I did and it allows you to plan for expansion. While I spent more than just buying say a 2x2 kit or a 3x3 kit. I bought an oversized exhaust and overpowered light for my 3x3 tent, so I can run everything at a lower power, and when I expand I just get a bigger tent and the reccomended components for the tent I have now which makes the overall expansion cheaper.

Yes, the accuracy of Android Lux meters is very much dependent on the quality of your device. I have an S22 Ultra which has an awesome light sensing chip, it is essential for auto setting screen brightness and achieving good quality photography so I use the highest rated, free PPFD meter and it works awsomely well. It's great because with seedlings I can keep temps low by reducing the height of my Marshydro FC-E1500 and dimming it while still mainting the optimum PPFD and avoiding the use of brutal fans and risking wind burn. If in doubt, follow the manufacturers instructions initially and then tweak as needed, don't become bogged down by the wealth of misinformation and bro science on social media.

APARENTLY the specific spectrums work off eachother to cause a more fluxed/active state ie red and small amount of blue is more productive in terms of how much light is fluxed. Various other spectrums catalyst in relation to whatever and at what levels that interact at in plants

Re: the future. I'm researching how 2 make my own lights. I've always encountered frustration bc the lights sold don't really cover a 5x5 or 6x6 space well or evenly. Why? I think it's bc of the drivers - their capacity theesholds and cost. For example, Mean Well HLG series had 600w and then jumps to 1000w. It's difficult to construct 2 lights that will entirely and evenly cover a 5x5/6x6 space with thise options, unless you fork over money for the 1000w. Two 750w cc+cv (HLGs) would be great. But, they don't exist. So, the options are too little or too much (and too much = too much $). Some more affordable and quality drivers would open things up for manufacturers, so growers could get that power increase the two of you mentioned. Also, running two 750w fixtures at 85% would be easier on diodes than a 600w at 100%. Mr. G...have you looked into best options for landrace seeds? Any credible sources you could interview? As someone who once partook, doesn't , but may again, i feel i get a different vibe around the green these days. Idk. It's more like an outsider observation that I'm not sure of, but it seems like back in the day the whole scene was a bit more mellow. I don't really know. It's just something I've found myself wondering about. But - more varied wattage drivers would be a good development and help with thorough lighting. Thanks for the video.

I think you’ll find any scene is what you make it. Sure, grass is more popular these days and everyone is an expert (not) which means there’s more idiots and chanced to be scammed but also there’s more good people and quality information out there. You sound like you know what you’re talking about, if you found like minded people I’m sure everything would be as good as you remember (if not better)
