On this special episode of On Purpose, I got to sit down with my good friend Gary Vee.
Gary is an investor, a serial entrepreneur and a 5 time New York Times bestselling author.
We got to talk in depth about how to stop caring what people think about you, why you should focus on happiness not hustle and why you need to contextualize advice before you decide to listen to it.
There are so many teachable moments in this episode and I know you will learn so much!
Hi, it’s Jay! I'd love to keep in touch. Add me on Messenger and you'll be the first to know about my latest podcast episodes, free courses, and BIG announcements every week! Click here:

Jay you are one of the most incredibly gifted, genuine, and inspirational human beings out there. Keep doing your thing, man. I inspire tons of people in person every single day and and am beyond grateful and blessed ... and your messages are just adding even more beautiful positivity to my life. Please share some feedback with Gary to invest in a pen and and paper during these talks so that instead of interrupting you countless times, he can jot small notes down so he can remember to bring his points up AFTER you finish your thoughts. Gary is a great guy with some good information to share, but he’s so encompassed with going on rants and responding immediately to whatever is being discussed... maybe you can show him a better way to manage his oral communication skills. Great topic, great discussion - keep up the tremendous work fellas 🙏💪

I loved it when Gary said all advice is bad if you don't have enough self awareness to eliminate what is bad. I admire his sense of self and his acceptance of his total self. He makes decisions that aren't popular but they are what's right for him. I'm working on that for myself. Thank you Jay for some real meat. This was definitely not leftovers. I'm still chewing on it. This is my 3rd viewing and I'm processing it. Thanks Gary. I want to have a heart like yours. God Bless.

I can't even put all my thoughts into words. This was incredible to witness. The flow, sharing of ideas, the unique perspectives that literally squared and multiplied and evolved in this podcast. Wow. I think the advice to be reflective about the advice we receive and put in context, really understand it, analyze it, pick it apart, is SO important. It made me look at myself in the mirror and just say who even am I? Because I feel one mistake Ive made in the past is that I've built myself up on the advice of others that was good advice for them but might not be for me. And its so confusing to even think about because I and everyone else in the world is built on the work and love of other people. It definitely does take immense self awareness to take advice. I'm literally rethinking my life rn... also about to go purge my insta because I'm definitely subscribing to way too many ppl just in it for the dollars. Thank you for this amazing piece of yourselves you just shared with the world. Bravo.

Believe it or not, we're not that special. We go through our days thinking about how other people might be judging us. But the truth is-those people are thinking the exact same thing. No one in today's "smartphone-crazed" society has time in their schedule to think more than a brief second about us. The fact of the matter is, when we do have time get our thoughts straight, we're too busy thinking about ourselves and our own shortcomings-not others.

Thought about listening to Gary Vee first then was thinking I wasn't in the mode for his energy right now (his delivery) and was feeling more like hearing insight from a softer tone. It's great that Gary Vee knows himself so well that he could speak on that he understands that his style of truth my cut through so hardly that some won't get the message. But then it's was this video. I can hear "just the two of us". Together you are a movement. Thank you for speaking change, peace and knowledge ❤️

It helped me communicate better with my love ones. JUST wanted to say that you have made a HUGE difference with my life and now I'm spreading that wisdom with my son.
