@@garyolsonyoga Its the End of April now and im still practising almost every day. No one told me how much u purge old trauma during and after these sessions. The amount of times i cried hard on my mat i cant even count. But its worth it. Im so peaceful now! And whenever I dont feel in the mood for yoga in the morning I hear ur voice in my head "Just GO! Dont think about doing it DO IT!" and then i roll out my mat and DO IT! :D I live in Germany so im not even doing real HOT yoga. Im gonna tell u in july when its 40 degrees how real hot yoga went for me ;)

I have been practicing at a Bikram studio for 12 years but have felt conflicted about some things in the last couple of years. This dialogue felt so aligned and provided so much emotional relief in some capacity for some conflicts I have had internally. Thank you so much for this 🙏

I! have been practicing Bikram yoga for 25 years. Instructor strays from the dialogue. Cues and transitions are lost with extraneous words, which also throws off the timing of the postures.

This guy should not be teaching Bikram Yoga ! if he is not going to respect the man who created it! Personal views aside, YOU obviously know that this Yoga, Works, and this guy is a joke for teaching it, and not not only giving no credit to Bikram, but blatantly, putting him down and acting like this Yoga magically came out of the woodwork !🔥♥️🕉️

In Standing Head to Knee pose, if you cannot clasp the bottom of your foot with your hands, what would be the modification? Clasping the elevated knee, or just curling your torso forward and reaching your hands downward?
@TheaQueen-y2v3 ай бұрын
First set, try holding in the foundation, tall spine with knee at hip level, solid standing leg, thinking about subtly pushing heel out. Second set, come back to that solid foundation, round down from the very top of your shoulders, stretching fingertips down pointed toward your foot, press fingertips into the sides of your knee. Let this take the full posture getting there. The foundation of solid standing leg & raised knee pushing OUT away from hip, heel pressing out and toes pulling back, is the most important & will gradually build you toward being able to round down to basket grip your foot

I've been doing the original hot 26+2 (Bikram style) for almost 20 years but my local studio is offering less and less of the original sequence; I might have to start practicing at home. What are your thoughts/philosophies on practicing in only 80ish degrees vs the hot 100+? I've only practiced this sequence in a non-heated room twice in 20 years (broken heaters!)...I don't think I can get my space heated as much as I'm used to and just want to be as safe as possible. Thank you! (This video is GOLD - thank you for posting it!)

Try "The Hot Yoga Dome". I'm not affiliated, just a happy user. I got one and have been able to practice at home in 105-110 degrees with 45-55% humidity consistently. Been practicing at home ever since I got one.
@lisawei-haas4772 Жыл бұрын
I’ve not gone back to a studio since i purchased my HotYogaDome in December 2020! I love it, and the flexibility of practicing when I want to versus when a studio schedules a class. Also, I much prefer the original 90 minute sequence and so many studios lean into the 60 minute version anymore

this instructor strays from the usual body commands im used to (after 24+ years experience) for example “and body down…” Also the way he instructed Tree Pose? And what is this “dead body pose”?? We don’t use that, and dozens of his, expressions in CO and CA. Lastly - the gal front and center - you’re cute but also also- keep working at it😝💗 you’ll get that tree pose drop with both hands in prayer -- it will humble and energize you beyond measure 👏🏻

Technically correct. Not impressed with his harsh teaching method. Also, the entire class is perfectly fit (not realistic) but not the instructor? Wouldn’t recommend this video to a beginner.

This particular yoga style taught in this exact style was what I started practicing years ago not having a clue about yoga. A lot of teachers and yoga practitioners at the time found this very controversial ( in the original style practice was even stricter, no water breaks unless permitted by teacher, no adjustments, props, rest unless permitted, and yes, the teacher talks you through, the idea is to read the book to learn the poses as the class is to practice not to learn the alignment) but tho I fallen in love with it and after the studio closed down (post Bikram’s infamous actions) I was always lacking that strict approach as this really taught me about focus discipline and pushing myself beyond my limits! Today I returned to this practice but I more conscious of my body and the practice I have implemented some changes ( not locking the knees also I do use probs) everything else stays same, love it!
