Ennio Morricone was my son's favorite composer. My son passed away five years ago. Forever thirty one years old. The grief and the heartache is still there. I feel so guilty still being alive. He was my only son, I loved him so much.

I am so very sorry for the pain you are going through. I almost lost my 31 year old son this summer to liver and kidney failure (self-inflicted by alcohol abuse). It was a miracle that he survived. I love him so much. He is very musically talented, a classical pianist and a composer but troubled deep within. Please don't feel guilty about being alive. You need to be alive to be able to help others who are going through similar situations. I will pray that God will give you the strength you need. He knows the pain you are going through. He gave His only Son to die on a cross for our sins. He loves you very much. God bless you dear.

I would have to say he is the greatest composer of our generation. I have been watching a TV documentary here in England about this incredible man...What an education for me! This is probably my most favourite piece of music from Ennio?I know that is a difficult decision to come to as Ennio has composed and produced the most amazing portfolio of music compositions over the years! In my opinion, no modern musician has ever captured deep emotions and humanities of life in film better than Maestro Morricone. There are great film composers, but Ennio Morricone was one of a kind. Often the films, as great as they may be, fell short on their impact on us when compared with the impact of the accompanying scores and melodies provided by this superb late composer, who will be ever present with us with the great music he left with us.

He was able to to create music for so many different stories, and still be reached with every.

This song's kind of a double edged sword because on the one hand it's a beautiful piece of music that is unlike anything I've ever heard before, but it also legitimately makes me feel sad and I'm pretty much on the verge of tears everytime I hear it. I genuinely cannot find any music that makes me as emotional as this does, it's really a feat that cannot be beat.

I feel the same way you do about this, Mr. Darwin. I love the song, but it makes me a little afraid every time I listen to it. But usually, I listen to it anyway, and let myself cry the tears and feel the pain. It is a strange medicine that I both crave and resist. And I don't want to cause you anymore tears, but there's another one of his that gets me pretty much the same way: love theme from The Cannonball Man. Check it out if you dare. I will get the back up handkerchief out.

first saw the film in '85 or '86 and was amazed. had (and have) never seen anything like it. had to watch it twice to understand the story line fully as i was/am pretty dumb. decades later i still hold that it's the best film i've seen in my life, by far. i NEVER watch a film more than once... but this one; 15 years later when poverty finally lifted sufficiently, i bought the dvd, and i've watched it four/five times now. beautiful in so many ways and that beauty is only enhanced, even created in parts, by the wonderful soundtrack.
