23:30 - Haha, my wife lost her phone while running through long grass once, and it was on silent. Man that was a pain. So anytime I am out in the wild now, notification sound is switched on but if I'm alone I turn the alarms on too in case I don't get any notifications and cannot call myself.

Thanks Susz, great scenery for this camp and the Bridge of Orchy is always worth the drive. Thankfully the midges were only about for the first hour of the evening and the wind picked up enough. I really hate them too. ATB Gaz

Aye me and the dog had to bail from the Galloway forest last week.first day was great,next morning midges 🦟 where out in their gazillions.stroll on autumn,winter and spring for camping.👍

I usually avoid low level camps at this time of the year to avoid disappointment and distractions with the midges. Only had one serious encounter with the midges at Geldie Lodge roughly this time last year and I’ll try not to repeat it. I agree with you, roll on the winter months for the camping.
