Gears of war Kryll or be krylled: Usage, Extinction, and what happened to them

The kryll are the under rated weapon of the locust army. But what exactly are they? In this video I will go over the lore, morphology, and background of them. So lets learn how they exist, why they exist, and why they have a hunger for human flesh.

I've got one question, if the krill are not dependent on their eyes and use echo location which would mean their technically blind right? After years of leaving underground. So how would they know if it was dark or not on the surface, when you shoot out the lights suddenly the krill knows it's safe to come down and rip apart whatever's there

If I recall correctly, RAAM can control the Kryll because he grew up around them as a wee little locust and for some reason they listened. They don't need RAAM to control or organise them, he just has the ability to command nearby Kryll.

Big Waff yeah, the first game had some massive horror elements that the later games kind of eschewed for action, emotion and over the top violence. Not saying those didn’t help to give gears its identity. But the horror of the first game gave the setting some higher stakes.

I played the whole series but i actually played GOW2 and GOW3 before the first, so i had absolutely no idea what Krylls were beforehand. When the dlc map pack for GOW3 came out, one of the maps actually had a kryll swarm in it, but at the time i was looking at it and had no clue on what it was, only that the swarm could move for x reason.

It would have been a interesting game mechanic if for a section of the game you had to use the hammer of dawn to walk yourself to a light source to avoid the krill you can actually get quite close to the hammer just stay away from the explosion when it hits the ground it would have been interesting.

I mean, this is a hypothesis but hear me out: So you were wondering why they don’t have ears, they don’t really need it when you have skin. The skin is extremely sensitive to light. So why don’t they use their touch sense since its sensitive? They do. They can _feel_ whatever is near them. It’s why they don’t need ears. “Why would they listen to RAAM when they don’t have ears?” Possibly because of his voice. They way it _feels_ makes them go under his control. Different waves can mean that they protect, attack, or go away.

I think since the Kryll are only focussed on survival that the general could trick then into thinking that once on Kryll does something wrong, that it gets killed with some others in the group (because the Kryll are only focused on surving they will do as he says because they want to survive).

Bit of a late comment but if you look at the gameplay in the clip of general raam, when he "commands" the kryll around him it appears that the ink is present as he points at a target. The same ink follows the small swarm of kryll perhaps this is what makes them immune to the sunlight and perhaps just like the locusts priests raam somehow uses ink to his advantage like the priests with their nades ?

A bat flew into my house once, we had to catch it in a pillow case and throw it outside. While we were in the process of capture the bat let out it's screech and it hurt my ears. We caught it and let it outside harmlessly. But i distinctively remember the sound it made on capture.

I always wonder why that's brought up, sure a majority of bats use echo location but also a large number og species also do use there eyes to hunt such as the flying fox and even vampire bats. Some bats do rely on their eyes. I just notice this in every video where you say a flying creature similar to a bat or nocturnal one uses echo location. While it is possible, they could aslo just use there eyes and sense of smell. Thought I'd bring this up.

Yes! Just not in game, they went extinct because the light mass bomb directly struck their living and breeding areas, it was day time so pretty much all of the creatures were in that area, they were annihilated and went extinct

weird, when RAAM uses the Kryll they don't seem to be that effected by daylight, for example, when you're playing as RAAM the Kryll seem to just be flying into the light without hesitation and munch people before returning to his side.

Australia belongs to the Symbotes ( Marvel carnage and venom esstially ) Moscow belongs to the dark ones and the mutants of Metro 2033 Finally Africa is under the control of the vocal parasite and the Mist Units of MGS 5.
