Hi Gemma, I'm a huuuuge fan and I'm a subscriber! Even though I've have a gluten intolerance, I still watch because I bake for my family and friends. I was wondering if you might have a good recipe for gluten free chocolate chip cookies that are crispy around the edges and chewy and soft in the middle. I know this is a lot to ask when talking about gluten free baked goods but I'm so frustrated trying to find something to replace my most beloved sweet treat. I was hoping you might have the solution. Do you think you could help me end struggle? 😂❤

I made these for my Church Bake Sale and wanted to keep everything for myself!:) They were delicious. I used the hand mixer to beat the butter/sugar and lessened the sugar. I used cranberries instead of raisins and they were amazing! Thank you for the recipe! Will definitely make again!

I made these yesterday, it made 12 jumbo cookies. They were delicious. I packed 3 for a neighbor in a pretty cellophane package and she loved them. Hubby's been eating the rest and I was good and only had one. Very nice recipe, thank you.

Honestly this is now one of my favorite videos of BBB. Not just because of the recipe, but because of the teamwork. I personally love working in teams coz it just gives you so much joy and there's something very comforting about it. Makes you feel wanted and loved. And I absolutely adore your ways of working. Since it was still quarantine...I have baked these and they are so good... I was only 12 yrs old and I loved watching and making your recipes.. I was learning how to cook desserts and snacks because I was bored in our house.😂.. I made these cookies and replaced red raisins with dates, almonds and golden raisins. They turned out to be perfect and gooey in the middle. This is your first recipe I have tried and I am glad I came across your channel!!😊

This is my second time baking this recipe and its so good! I didn't have white sugar so I just added 1 cup of compact light brown and it works too♥️

I just made these with a few tweaks: added a dribble of molasses to the weight of the brown sugar; put in 35 grams rolled barley (Quaker quick cooking pearled barley); used diced prunes instead of raisins; used convection baking. The edges were a bit too brown so did regular heat and still too dark edges (maybe the molasses?) but they were delicious.

It could be the molasses or the temperature in the oven before you turned to regular heat.

Oldie but goodie I know, but I just made these with 75% dark chocolate bar because I ran out of raisins a month ago. OMG! Had to freeze the dough or I might finish the entire batch. So simple and delicious.

There are so many recipes to choose from, but I know I can trust yours, and it was easy to do. Thank you. Instead of raisins, I used chocolate covered, candy coated, sunflower seeds.

Could we use jaggery powder to substitute brown suger since jaggery powder contains molasses too?

Instead of raisins, I put finely chopped pumpkin seeds & pecans in my cookie batter. My grandson said they were the best cookies ever. Everyone loved them. Love your recipes. Thank you! 🙅‍♀️👍

I will try to make these, the other recipe called for oat bran but I never had any so I'd use more oatmeal and the cookies taste amazing. Sometimes I would add chocolate chips but when I'm feeling extra I'll add cranberries in as well with the chocolate and raisins 😋 my dad loved those the most.

Omg I made these but I swopped the raisins with milk chocolate chips and they were delicious. So chewy and sweet but definitely not too sweet. They were amazing!!!!

I love oatmeal cookies! It's the only recipe where I can tolerate raisins in my desserts, haha :) The baking time is really short. No wonder the raisins in my cookies ended up shriveled and tough - I have been baking them off for too longn!

It's 10:00 pm here in Southwest Missouri. My wife wanted fast cookies and I found your video. Made the cookies (super fast and easy) and they are delicious. I had to use chocolate chips because I didn't have any rasins. I can't wait for my 8 & 4 year old boys to try them in morning.

This recipe is to die for! Did it three times already and every time, I get the best chewy in the middle, crisp on the outside cookies. I personally don't like raisins though so I substitute chocolate chips or chunks, and then toss in some walnuts too. Yum! Thank you again for always sharing bomb recipes, Gemma!

I don't know what I did wrong but I had to leave them inside the oven way longer because after 10 minutes they were still just very soft batter. Had them in there for at at least double the time but they turned out rather good! Thanks for this awesome recipe! Only thing I had to substitute was the raisins with sultanas.

I made this and i loved it. Thank you Gemma 😘 kitchen was smelling so delicious before i can even tasted it😆 It was bit sweeter for my taste though, will probably cut sugar into 3/4cup in total next time. And you know what, for those who like a little more crunch and still has softness in it, let it sit for 1-2 days. Man, i even loved it even more. Mine stayed few days because i cant finish those cookies alone 🤦‍♀😆😆

These were the best cookies I've ever made! I've never really liked raisins, so I swapped them out for 1/3 cup of mini semi sweet chocolate chips and a 1/3 cup of chopped walnuts, as well as used 1/4 cup of white sugar instead of 1/2 cup. They turned out amazing and I will definitely be using this recipe again!! Thank you!!

Hi Martha, it seems that your butter was too soft if they spread too much. You can try to chill the cookie dough first. Another would be the shape of your cookies. You might want to make a bigger cookie dough ball. On the other hand, if they were still raw, they do need more time in the oven. These are a chewy cookie, so if you'd like a crispier one, do leave them a little longer. Watch your bake closely and you should be grand.
