GEORGIAN BAY's ROCKY Channels, 3Day Trip, Tiny Houseboat, YES ROCKS HIT

GEORGIAN BAY has challenging Rocky Channels and we rose to the occassion in our Tiny Houseboat! Navigating some of the toughest backwaters! We set off on a beautiful week long trip (this video is a three day sampling) aboard our DIANNE'S ROSE, a Tiny Houseboat that can go where few can! We are accompanied with the Can Am Dinghy Cruising Association "Gang" of uniquely mixed boats, who are also up to the challenge! The BRITT, south area is so rocky few boats dare explore out of the charted channels! Yes I hit ROCKS (trying Dianne's patience), but we survive and the reward is some of the most beautiful scenes on Georgian Bay!

I remember that fine day..us too hit a rock a touch. In that last thin channel. We had great weather and visibility too.

@jpbeauchemin is very true, JP!!! It takes a lifetime to touch on a fraction of the interesting backwaters and thousands of Islands! Work in progress!!!

@@roydesignedthat I believe it. I have done a lot of research (online) and it seems you could spend a lifetime in the Georgian Bay area. But do you ever consider trailering to other areas?

@jpbeauchemin yes, we have trailered DIANNE'S ROSE all the way to the Texas coast! This was to show her at a couple of shows, one in Oklahoma and the other in Port Aransas! A great trip! We typically trailer 2 to 6 hours to get to spots we like. I've been busy with a boat build, MiniD (done now), and have had a bad hip, which has slowed the amount of work I could do, but I'm now recovering from surgery, so all is good, but the combination of working on my own time, spending on materials and not working regularly, have us a bit short of capital of late. So gas costs have been a factor in our dissension as to how far we travel! Actually, my new MiniD design is in part to have a smaller, therefore lighter, camper boat so we can travel farther with less cost! It has virtually the same comfort as our Rose, the key is Dianne likes it! We are keeping DIANNE'S ROSE for now but may need to pick one or the other once we are sure of which works best for us! Thanks for the video of area so different than where I live. I will make a note to get some rock climbing anchors for tying off. Pretty scenery! Do you fish any?
