Part 2 of the epic 3 part series that see's me attempt to cross the incredible country that is Norway, in a completely straight line. In this episode we find out what impact Marius's missing bolt had on my 5 mile kayak across the reservoir, we meet a curious local, and see how I fare as I plunge into the rugged wilderness beyond...

Don't need any equipment but a regular map (at least regular in Norway) and your own brain (to do maths) 😅 But I guess it's much nicer to have someone do this for you instead of staking out all gradients yourself. (Honestly you just need too look at distances VS gradients, and there exist 1 or more public maps for every single plot of Norway. Just not sure about the dimensons on all of them, can be 1:50 000 or 1:25 000 usually) Just commenting on this since you mention "state of the art software" when it's completely redundant 😄

Ngl, I laughed aloud. I doubted he'd found a bear, cause they are very rare to see, but if he was unlucky, he would've really been playing with fire, by trying to bait it with food. It would probably have ran away anyway, Norwegian bears are to my knowledge very people shy. The most dangerous situation may be a mother with cubs, cause she may choose to attack rather than run away, to protect the cubs.

@@deeznuts1548 you dont want to frighten them though. If theres a bear near you you want to be loud enough so that the bear knows youre there, because they dont wanna run into people anymore than you wanna run into a bear. The only time you wanna make super loud scary noises or scream is if one is coming right for you as a last ditch effort. If you scream and the bear doesnt know youre there youll startle it and itll be more likely to attack

besides being by-far the best series on youtube, let's take a second to appreciate some more things. 1. there are full English subtitles - as a non-native speaker, I can surely say these will help many many people (not me, I can understand you thanks to your British accent). putting subtitles in such long videos doesn't;t get enough appreciation. Thanks! 2. thumbnail and title are straight forward and not clickbaity - picture from the trip and the name of the series as a thumbnail. cool. 3. completely original content - no stolen songs (still can't believe you made them - they're amazing) no use of other people's work without consent. damn it, even the idea is yours. 4. no time pushing or lengthening the video for no reason - all that shit of "let's see me doing a thing, holy shit so excited, wtf I'm gonna do this, let's go, ok I'm doing this" isn't there. the video is long because it has a lot of content, and I didn't want to skip a second of it. Edit: 5. no to very little ads - honestly please put some more, you need to make some money from this masterpiece

Indeed!! He just described the easiest way to get killed by a bear. First lure the bear with the delicious smell of moldy beef jerky Then start to run away so the bear takes you as a prey and chases you down Most bears have natural fear of humans so the easiest way to avoid them is to simply make noise. If they are aware you of you they will usually keep their distance. However, they have good sense of smell and no matter how pansy they are, their appetite is far stronger than their self-preservation instincts. Don't leave garbage and scraps behind. If you encounter a bear then simply talk / sing calmly and back away slowly. Do _not_ turn your back.

Would you consider making an extra video at the end of this series, where you just edit all the footage you have from the head-cam and speed it up a lot, so we can see the whole line in just a minute or so? I think that would be pretty cool :)

@Stella Hohenheim That's... not at all what I requested. You're welcome to your opinion but I enjoy listening to him talk. Also, it IS dangerous - it's in the middle of nowhere, no phone signal, he is alone, and all it takes is one slippery step and a head-slam on a rock. He doesn't seem to be exaggerating too much, to me the narrative feels adequate.

That "snoring" was probably just our trolls, they sleep at day time you see, the sun turns them to rock, so you were never in any danger! Awesome journey btw! Thank you for the journey! Have a sub
