6:52 i don't think AQs is a good fold against 1/2 probe bet river. :)) He has miss flush draw, smaller Ax, some random low poket pairs like 55 44 33 22, 56s 67s, 88

I have quit the game because i fold A3o on the button... Bye guys.
@TimeHandler
@TimeHandler 9 ай бұрын
In all seriousness though, i actually lose a tonne with A4o on the button overall... Possibly variance, but i'm also losing alot with A5o... I know it's probably just because i suck postflop, but the hands i do play, net me enough to make a profit overall, even though i've discounted all the massively losing hands from my ranges for the time-being. My results have been noticeably better since this change. Obviously if you know you're generating money with the hands, play them, but i would advise actually checking your results with the hands you play, from each position. You can do it easily in PT4... Even if you don't change your ranges, you'll at least know where you stand. I'm sure some people can play stuff like A3o profitably, but i sure as hell can't right now. I feel like it'll probably take years of studying before i'm at that point. #NitLife

It depends on who is in the blinds. I’d be very shocked if you were losing opening A3o where there is a fish in the BB, but of course you can’t really filter for that nor have the sample for it.
@TimeHandler
@TimeHandler 9 ай бұрын
@@CarrotCornerPoker Yeah you make a good point, i probably would have no problems winning with these hands vs the right opponents... I should find a way to factor that in... Because in my case i still feel like my profitable range would be much tighter than yours would be, even vs a fish... I wish i could somehow filter for that... My plan is to just gradually add groups of hands one pip at a time, and see how they do... If they're still losing, keep them, but don't expand any further. Once they start winning, move a bit further out... It's been eye-opening though, i thought, seeing as i'm winning, i had nothing too much to worry about, but i was losing with like 50% of my button range, and most of my positions. I was making a tonne with the rest though... So i just cut the losing half... Touch wood it's working (pretty darn well) so far... Kind of a calculated nit style. Maybe it's not sustainable though, i can't really tell yet, only played 15k hands in this manner.

Love the content and the attitude, but just since you made a big deal about it at 5:59: In section 6.4 of The Grinder's Manual (which I know is not 100% up to date) J8o is clearly labeled as a fold against a 3x open. 🤪

@CarrotCornerPoker
@CarrotCornerPoker 9 ай бұрын
Frequencies are not the important thing here. The hand is 0EV in theory. In practice, with a bit of work you can have a pretty big edge BB vs SB in position and then this hand is profitable and should be played 100% of the time.

It’s okay Jim. You can still play the game. For now….but in seriousness this is one of the spots you can have the biggest edge in post flop. 3-betting is also good though and might be best against many opponent types.

Stop running it multiple times. Embrace the variance or drop down in stakes cause clearly you aren’t properly rolled if you can’t take the hits. Takes all the suspense out of the game and just encourages people to chase bad draws when they know their opponent plays scared and will run out multiple boards. It’s +EV for bad players and -EV for good players.

This doesn’t feel like the right logic… if we have an edge then we should be getting it all-in in high EV spots. Therefor we want to run it twice to decrease variance of suck outs and because our edge will help us win most of the time.
@jeffshackleford3152
@jeffshackleford3152 7 ай бұрын
@@kieranroseroundnetI always understood the logic of run it twice to be if my opponent sucks out on the first board, I will likely win the second, if I got the money in ahead. If you got it in behind, you want to run it once in case you suck out ( I think).
