Alone and lonely are not synonymous. I was never more lonely than when I was in an unhappy marriage. I have been happily divorced for three decades.

The worst loneliness is the one you feel when you are in a relationship and the other person seems like a wall of cement blocks...

Married 38 wonderful years to my soul mate who died a year ago. I was blessed and very grateful for all the great opportunités we shared. Most people do not know themselves. They are nothing but a reaction to the culture.

I'm sorry for your great loss, that had/has to be so hard. I think you are correct in your opinion re: people/culture.

Well, I wear my hair long but there are times when I prefer to go to the hairdresser and get it cut. I feel happy when I get my hair cut and at the same time I plan how to make it grow. We are with others and our relationships are based on our personalities.

Staying married, but I feel confidently that my BP would go down if I were not married. Always trying to do things the way she wants does raise my BP, no doubt, because I find her usually disappointed in the results.

Doctor: "Stop eating healthy Mr. Jones and take this medication for the rest of your life" Mr. Jones: "But what if I eat healthier? Wouldn't that lower my blood pressure?" Doctor: "Silly stupid patient...stop asking questions and take the medication."
