If you are thinking about going to china in your future travels, I recommend you visit Taiwan first before jumping into mainland China so you can get to familiar with Mandarin. Canadians are allowed to stay 3 months there, plus people there are friendly and don't mind you talking back in english. Its an english friendly place. Plus Bubble Tea is originated there.
