🐝For the record, I am allergic to wasps (I have nothing against them as individuals lol just not biting me)!!! Thank you all for your understanding, as I post this the temps have normalized again. Sadly, there were a lot of deaths (due to heat) and fires recently here and in Canada. I had to leave to my mothers house shortly after making this video as I do not have AC and the temperature felt even warmer indoors. Also, my bunny and dog were struggling (both have dark fur and Mr Darcy is very old and doesn’t tolerate heat). We are completely unprepared for temperatures like this, most of us don’t have ac and it is unprecedented. Filming outdoors under such a hard sun just seemed impossible this week, especially due to my camera overheating (as well as myself). Sadly I lost some of my favorite plants to the heat :( My heart goes out to the homeless and people who do not have proper shelter, it has been a dangerous few days. It’s been hard to see the valley go from green to brown in such a short time, as well as having smoke from Canada. So the clips I included I hope will bring some lovely thoughts of spring and natures resilience. Sending hope and love to our neighbors up north dealing with wildfires. Hope you are all in a safe place. The PNW is very unique. The heat is important to note because a large chunk of it is temperate rainforest. It is not meant to withstand such a heat. And, then, of course, in the dry areas of the PNW, the forests can become tinder in heat that high. We went through similar last August/September. We also became unusually windy. The PNW is typically not that windy compared to most places, but it's been windy since August 2020. Highly unusual. I am hoping that the winds and pressures normalize once again for a typical, temperate lifestyle. So far since that massive heat spike has finally simmered into normal weather. I hope it continues.

You can drink, roughly, 3/4ths of a liter of sea water a day and still be hydrated. Ill see if i can find a link. The reason people died drinking sea water is because they were already dehydrated which destroys the kidneys. Then, as a last resort, they drink sea water. The kidneys, which are already damaged, cant keep up so the pirates kidneys fail. They also drink too much too fast. Second it isnt that much salt in the lemon water. @@darthvader1793 In summer time? Well, first of all, it depends on where in Finland you live. I spent a summer once in Lapland in the very northern part of Finland, and some days in summer it was only + 3°C 😅 But I live more in the south, and if I think about the years when I was growing up here, we had some warm weeks during summer. For example, +25°C was considered really warm! But mostly the weather was a bit cooler, not often significantly over +20°C. I've never experienced this kind of summer in Finland before. A lot of days when you can go out in tiny light summer clothes and the sun just keeps shining, +30°C temperatures and so on. It has felt like being on a holiday abroad! It has also been very dry and the berries etc. have been becoming ripe earlier than usually. So, I can't really say exactly what the difference in temperatures is, but we've definitely had different kind of winters and summers in the recent years compered to my childhood years.

I live on the Island of Cyprus in the Mediterranean, we too are experiencing similar temperatures to you with July and August being our hottest months. The Island is now a tinder box resulting in many devastating fires with 4 lives lost and many homes destroyed. Drink plenty of water and stay in the shade as much as possible. 💕

Paola, wishing you well from my area in Arizona. We’ve been blessed with the monsoon rains in the desert. I hope you get some relief soon from the heat and Aegir and MrDarcy are able to come home to you very soon. I’m nursing a second-degree sunburn (I totally know what you mean about the sun beating down on you). I admire your strength during difficult times, and wanted to let you know that you inspire me to explore my little side of paradise. Naturally a walker and explorer myself, I’ve been out of touch with my true nature because I feel out of my comfort zone. Since watching your videos, I’ve been slowing coming out of my shell and reintroduced to my true nature. I want to thank you and wish you the best. May rain come your way and replenish your beautiful side of paradise. Xoxo

I’m in Az and so far just humidity and no rain worth mentioning. I wish the monsoon would just get going here.

🇬🇧 Looks so idillic, just you and your dog, green fields and beautiful flowers, no one else around, being an introvert this is perfect. 🌻

I live just South of you,in North Central Wa., 115F here,as well. Spending my days running ragged, keeping the barn cats as cool as possible. It's been very stressful....😦 on my knees in gratitude for the cooler temps (95F!). Sitting in a cool morning breeze and overwhelmed with relief. Praying and holding space for ALL struggling Souls. Bless You and Yours, Paola. 🙏💪❤

Sorry about the situation, but I must say, I love how true you are, like it's so easy to let us know about how beautiful things are over there, but you still tell us about the down part. Thank you. You'll all get through this safely.

That was a beautiful collection of little clips, and I would have really missed you had you not posted today. I really look forward to your and Fairyland Cottage's weekly video. I hope things cool down a bit soon, those are very depleting temperatures... 🤗🌺

I feel your discomfort. Over here in Western Australia it's pretty standard for us to have temps of 43-46C for days on end in Summer. Fan misters and damp facecloths work wonders!

It gets that hot here just north of Sydney; with serious bushfire danger too. You can't think let alone do anything. Rest and ride it out Paola. Stay safe. The montage was lovely thankyou x

We will be going thru a Extreme Heat Wave this Friday til Monday most highs will be 107 to 111. With lows thru the nights 80 to 90. My best solution has been eating watermelon cubes & soaking my feet in bowl of cool water. Stayed watered up & stay indoors as much as possible! Not every day is Perfect each day or wk isn't gone always go as planned. Sometimes those mishaps teach us a new language to just let go & let God! The video clips were perfect! Thank you for another great video!!!😊

Watermelon cubes and cold foot soaks sound like the best! I am going to fetch a watermelon now 🍉. Thank you for the encouragement, and hope the heat passes soon ❤️

Perfect time for sharing some snippets of your life. Thank you for uploading a video even though you are going through extreme heat ❤ I'm from Australia so I can understand - to a point - the heat parts of Northern America are going through at the moment. I was born and raised in a really dry area of this gorgeous land but not even there did it get to 46c besides the odd occasion. My sister now lives in an area where summers are mid-40s. I couldn't bear that now. Not after moving to a state where it gets hot but not for many days running and coolness almost always comes during the night. Stay safe and as cool as possible ❤
