Probably the best video I've seen so far on bar muscle up, step by step. I love the "it's not a pull-up, it's a pull back", that has been my mistake!

Just a quick explanation how a true muscle up should be done: no kipping, no bending knees or legs, while doing a clean muscle up your legs have to stay in line with your head/body, and you have keep them as straight as possible. No legs involved, just pure strenght and power of your biceps, core, and lats.

very inspiring. i am a casual in crossfit, yet it’s been 4 yrs and still no bar MU. I am praying I get the mental capacity to actually make my body work hard to achieve this goal. Thank you so much for the tip sir, and God Bless.

I’m having issues transitioning on the low box pulling my lats down and hips up to drive over the bar. I feel as if I’m not getting good engagement on my lats. My kip is on point and I am able to drive my hips, any tips on lat engagement?

Lol, the comments be like „don‘t do this, do it the calisthenics way“ but every god damn calisthenics video uses a swing kip, where you swing your feet to the front and then tuck in the knees. Yes, they try to make it cleaner as one progresses, but the hypocrisy of misjudging a kip and then preach a swing is ridiculous 😂

You can't outtrain a bad diet... I learned that the hard way training so hard and having poor results. Then I started following the Agoge Diet, and I finally started seeing some amazing results.

This is called a kip up not a muscle up... Calisthenics has clean muscle ups this is just ridiculous...
@richardc81552 жыл бұрын
Sorry - not a Bar Muscle up. Call it something else. It is a skill and perfecting the hip thrust and kip does require training. Maybe just describe it as a CrossFit MU. As long as CrossFit keeps describing these Kipping Muscle Ups / Bar hip swings as MU it will inevitably draw less than favourable comparisons from those who are actually working on Muscle Ups. Gymnastics doesn’t try to describe the Glide Kip as a muscle up and no one criticises gymnasts who learn and demonstrate the glide kip - it’s a nice skill - just not a MU. Same for CrossFit MU. Change the name and you can remove a bunch of confusion.

please dont learn this type. of muscle ups guys. Learn the calisthenics/gymnastic's way.
@Jianemba4 жыл бұрын
Ok I got you. I saw the swinging in the kip. Mine are not strict. But an abdominal tuck knee lift. With open hands into a dip push. Is how I learned mine. So as I go down, I control and hold halfway on the bar. I drop back into the same position I pull myself up or repeat again.
@user-ox4nb6eb7v4 жыл бұрын
Do NOT do this kind of muscle up. You're going to end up with shoulder and elbow injuries and won't get any significant strength gains. Learn the proper form. Fitness FAQ's and Calisthenicmovement have plenty of videos on it

@@micah1754 Keep going at it 👍🏾 Personally I find the ring muscle up better for strength training but if you want to work explosiveness the bar is great
@micah17542 жыл бұрын
@@user-ox4nb6eb7v that is good to know and makes sense :) thank you. The rings are actually all I have access to at home so I'm using the gymnastics method tutorial for learning them. I don't have a high space to hang them in though so slightly worried about hitting the ceiling once I get strong enough to go beyond high pull ups lol. I do find pull ups on them much more forgiving on my joints than the rigid straight bar with the way they move with you. Dips on them are a bit beyond me though at this stage. I can get a couple but the stress on the shoulder joint didn't feel great
