It's not really a spoiler but Ghost of Yotei takes place around 329 years after Ghost of Tsushima in the year 1603, the original took place in 1274 Im pretty sure Sucker Punch will turn this into an anthology franchise where they visit different time periods and places of Japan, or Asia in general, similarly to Assassins creed

I think that the wolf is like the foxes in GOT, you can se a yellow tree in the distance. This game takes place in the northernmost island of Japan, Hokkaido, in an era where this island was more or less outside of the government of the northern daimyo(feudal lords). It was primarily inhabited by the Ainu people, which i'm sure Sucker Punch will show in this game. It's a perfect setting for a "western" in Japan. Ghost of Tsushima already had a lot of influence from the films of Akira Kurosawa, who greatly influenced the Spaghetti western, so it will be really cool. The music is great already.

Ghost of Tsushima took place on the island of Tsushima during the Mongol invasion in 1274. Ghost of Yotei takes place surrounding the mountain of Mount Yotei in the 1600s during the Edo Period. It seems Sucker Punch will be going for separate eras of Japan, giving them their own protagonists to follow.

Fun fact: this game takes place in a time when one of Japan’s greatest swordsmen was alive. Musashi Miyamoto. Sadly, I don’t think he ever went to Hokkaido. Still, it would be amazing if he was in the game somehow.

Idk why people keep mentioning it, Ubisoft delayed it because the game isn't quite finishes yet and still needs polishing, which is for the better as the first few gameplay trailers looked rough around the edges This games official announcement and Ubisoft delaying the new Ac are in no way connected

The new protagonist's name is Atsu, and she'll be traveling to the region around Mt. Yotēi (what is now the region of Hokkaido) as she's hunting... someone. In one scene, it looks like has a scarf wrapped around her arm with several names on it, and she crosses off a name with the blood on her sword (presumably her target's blood, which is metal as hell). I cannot wait for this game. It's a shame that Jin's story is over, what with this being set 300+ years after Ghost of Tsushima, but I look forward to seeing Atsu become the Ghost of Yotēi. Who knows? She might even be Jin's descendant, if you subscribe to the theory that the Guiding Wind in both games is the spirit of Jin's father (which I do).

A few reaction suggestions from Tuesday's State of Play (assuming they haven't been proposed already): Astro Bot trailers: I've mentioned it before, but this game is looking to be a likely candidate for GOTY at the Game Awards. Got a free DLC trailer in the State of Play. New Monster Hunter Wilds trailer: Just bringing this up since you guys seem to like checking MH out. Probably about to get a lot of material for it with Tokyo Game Show going on. Sonic x Shadow Generations trailers: You two might be interested in these with the imminent release of the third Sonic movie. Let's you see more of Shadow. The State of Play gave us a trailer for the movie pack DLC, which includes levels based on the movie with Shadow being voiced by Keanu Reeves and adopting his movie design. New Dragon Age The Veilguard trailer: Shouting this out because I know Ken's looking forward to it.

This is info that we just received from the video's description 2 days ago, so I don't think its a spoiler: As far as we know, this game doesn't seem to tie very closely to the story of Tsushima. It takes place 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima with a completely new main character. Whether events from the last game will matter here remains to be seen. Don't take my word as gospel, but if Sony is planning on releasing Yotei in the same window as Ghost of Tsuhshima has historically, then it would drop sometime during Summer 2025 (May-August). Could be wrong of course.

Glad to see you guys checking out more of Ghost. This was easily my highlight from the latest State of Play. Btw, a Ghost of Tsushima film has been in known production for the past few years. Its being directed by Chad Stahelski (for whatever that's worth to you). Sorry if another community member brought it up, I don't use Discord so I wouldn't know. Can't say anything of its quality since we don't have any trailers for it. P.S. It's pronounced Yo-tay

I have to say two things about me for this game, as it’s like bad news to good news to share. 😅 Good news: I am so hype for this game, with the story being 300 yrs set after GOT with the main character being female. 😄 Also very much looking forward this game as people say it’s like Assassin’s creed Shadows but more different characters or atmospheric Bad news: I don’t have a PS5 to play it 😭 but I shall get to watch the gameplay if you guys play it out there to admire and enjoy you guys playing it during the stream.

Instead of continuing Jin Sakai's story, the developers decided on a new approach: Ghost of Yotei jumps a few centuries into the future and lets us put on the cone-shaped rice hat of the female Ronin Atsu. She will fight with two Katana's which bothers me a little cause the first game is historical so accurate and it is impossible to fight effectivley with two Katana's at the same time (jury still out on that one) There are historical documents mentioning people who invented double katana techniques, but its more for the anime if you ask me. For a game, i am into it.
