@@mikesveganlife4359 Fluoride kills Steptococcus mutans by reacting through the bacteria's cell membrane. This bacteria makes lactic acid from 6-carbon sugars like glucose. However, the fluoride reacts with every tissue in the body. It even absorbs through the gums. Toothpaste is 2500 times more concentrated than water from NYC or Philadelphia. The Fluoride Action Network has peer-reviewed science on the dangers of Fluoride. I use Xylitol toothpaste. Xylitol is a 5-carbon sugar that the bacteria cannot metabolize into lactic acid. Colgate owns Tom's of Maine and they make a fluoride-free toothpaste that has prevented cavities in my mouth for over 6 years. Fluoride DOES NOT remineralize the teeth. Check out Fluoride Action Network, they got dozens of Nobel Prize winners and thousands of scientist and dentists all against fluoride.

I question everyone as there is so much truth mixed with lies and till I heard this I trusted most of what this Dr says but now I know something is up. He is WAY too smart to think what he said about fluoride and the way he spoke so muttered and quickly about backed it up for me. So either he is a shill or he at least is trying to protect or at least not impact the dental and water industry’s. Maybe it’s pressure he doesn’t want ? I sure hope that’s the case!
@SS-uf7ks6 жыл бұрын
He's definitely not a shill. That makes absolutely no sense... what, he's banking in on fluoride? Look, Dr. Greger is a brilliant man but he's not God and he's certainly not always right. He just so happens to be dead wrong on this issue and his reasoning that the poor need unwanted government intervention and shouldn't have a choice, is so out of touch and offensive. I know he doesn't mean it that way but it is so. I hope that he reads some of these comments. If I were interviewing him I would have challenged him on that thought cause it's just too much to ignore. But don't question all his presentations. For the fluoride crap, I totally agree with you, but notice that his opinion, while short-sighted and out of touch, was his opinion and not citing any evidence. The other stuff he presents is solely evidence based. So you don't need to wonder, just follow the evidence.

Shaylen Snarski sure I’m more or less with you on your feelings as till this point I had little to no reason to doubt his advice and researched knowledge. However I do feel that even great doctors seeking truth on natural plant based lifestyle to do what’s best are being pushed by government or the different industries to steer people in the wrong direction. However based on his quiet muttered response on the fluoride subject I guess it looks less likely to be the case here but I’m always on guard and trust nobody 100% due to the levels of corruption I’ve experienced in this world among many industries.

I wish it would be addressed more why some seem to "fail" on WFPB. And not everyone has problems eating a healthy diet that includes meat (i.e., not the SAD diet but whole foods). I wondered if there is some genetic variation or mutations that makes it so some people can't absorb nutrients as well or can't convert one element into another efficiently (like vitamin A - there could be some obscure processes we don't understand yet). There could be something like lactose intolerance but for other substances. Unfortunately, we can''t pay the $$$ or time to have our blood tested regularly. Also, some absorption problems could have been acquired (through disease or years of bad eating habits ruining the GI tract). And we can't really say, can we, that we know all the elements our body needs to run well, that we've identified everything> The RDA varies depending on country, so there's not even a consensus on that after all these years. Someone going WFPB may start consuming a food a lot more that they have undiscovered intolerance to which could hinder their ability to thrive on the diet, but how can they know without spending the $$$? Easier to blame the diet. - when they switch to a carnivore diet, not only are they adding foods back in but also most likely subtracting foods.

Sorry I like the Dr but fluoride in water is mostly a byproduct of the aluminum production processes and I can't see how it would be helpful

Pls what about tifu? How much , How Often pls? I luv soy products specifically Tofu, I often eat it all week long sometimes all meals , sometimes just twice a day. I'm a guy, I have not issues or side affects... Should I still limit consumption? I'm a vegetarian so I eat a lot of soy, I also have stopped eating TVP cuz I heard it's cancer causing due to the process when it's mfg.

I have always heard that fluoride is bad for us. Dr. Joseph Mercola is the first Doc that I heard mention this so I am surprised that Dr. Gregor says it is Okay to drink. I have kept away from it for years.

Eye am very VERY sadden to hear of the ignorance of the fluoride in the tap warer. PLEASE everyone.. ONLY drink reverse osmosis, or the best option is jn distilled water. Seeing this left-minded perspective.. makes sense that we would be Pro-calcification of the Spiritual-Sensory of the Pinal Gland (third-eye).

I really want to believe the soy part but I get instant pimples after eating soy the next day and my skin is more agitated/hormonal ( I eat oil free ) So I feel it really does do something to me...and eat it verrryy occasionally because I don't think its a good reaction of my body...

When Dr Greger says: “Fluoride is the reason why we don’t grow old and lose our teeth,” 5:59, the way he words it suggests-but is probably not intended to-that fluoride prevents us from getting old, AND ALSO, prevents us from loosing our teeth. A better wording might be something like: fluoride is the reason we don’t lose our teeth when we get old. Not that I believe that fluoride is helpful in any way. He says it’s not necessary. I believe fluoride is harmful and to be avoided! But what do I know? I’m not authority. Has Dr Greger put fluoride to the test? Is Dr Greger buddy’s with BIG FLUORIDE? I hope not. I respect and admire Dr. Greger. I consider him an authority, and I heed his recommendations. This is one instance where I question his judgment.
