The standard of winning games/chips before Jordan was that teams and individual players couldn’t win without having a dominant big or dominant back court. Jordan comes along and is dominating the league, breaking records season after season. That’s why the media were saying he’s the greatest they’ve seen before he won. Nobody had seen a scoring guard come into the league and dominate individually. Once he won a chip, that changed the narrative on how teams won championships.

1. Gilbert never "cooks" anybody. He always sounds like a stoner trying to perform mental gymnastics. 2. The reason (SOME) people crowned Jordan after 1 championship is because Jordan passed the eye test unlike anyone before or since. When you watched Jordan, you just knew that was the greatest. The guy dominated both ends, cooked everybody, and did stuff with a basketball that was mind blowing. Go watch his NBA mixtape here on KZbin. That was Mike. LeBron is being judged against Mike. So not only does he have to pass the eye test, he has to be way better than Jordan on the eye test to pass him with only one championship. The problem is that not only does LeBron have less championships, MVP's and every other accolade, he also doesn't LOOK as good as Jordan. LeBron is like a baby Shaq with more passing ability. When you need a bucket, his moves are limited. He gets most of his points on fast breaks, or bully ball, or chucking low % 3's. He's not as laterally quick or as versatile as Jordan or even Kobe. He can't hit awkward shots like Jordan, Kobe or Bird. His shot is robotic and stiff. That's why he's struggled at times against long athletic wings like Butler, Kawhi and Iggy. His was around the age where greats often have their most dominant seasons. His Cleveland numbers the prior two years were better in regular season and post season. He just had more help and adapted his game to the types of playoff coverages he saw. Some of it is Heat, but some is the natural progression of an evolving player.

Which is stupid, but true (which i'll quote lebron to explain ) "I'm the CHOSEN ONE" caus he knows media put him in this conversation regardless. Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Paul George aaaaaand the man Lebron went head to head with in Game 7 of 2016, the game that made him “the greatest ever?” Draymond Green and he outscored Lebron 32-27 and shot 73% compared to Lebron’s 38%, he only had 2 turnovers Lebron had 5. Lebron has 11 rebound and 11 assists which is great but he let Draymond get 15 rebounds and 9 assists….not to mention this question needs to be asked 30 years from now. How “revered” do you think Paul George is gonna be in 30 years? Draymond Green? In 30 years you think we’re gonna have Draymond even close to as good of an all time player as Clyde Drexler?

And only Terry Cummings is the only player to outscore him in a playoff series out of 269 opponents. So I find it a bit of a stretch trying to dismiss MJ based on the fact the 2 guards in the 80s and 90s weren’t as offensively potent as the small forwards two decades later. Especially since the game is more offensively oriented now
