A recipe inspired by my grandmother's "worship chicken" recipe. Super easy, yet so, so, so good. Ther perfect balance of salty and sweet, with the intense flavour of soy sauce. Promise it's gonna become a staple in your hom once you try it!

About Pai:
Pailin “Pai” Chongchitnant is the author of the Hot Thai Kitchen cookbook, co-host of a Canadian TV series One World Kitchen on Gusto TV, and creator and host of the KZbin channel Pailin's Kitchen.
Pai was born and raised in southern Thailand where she spent much of her "playtime" in the kitchen. She traveled to Canada to study Nutritional Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and was later trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in San Francisco.
After working in both Western and Thai professional kitchens, she decided that her passion really lies in educating and empowering others to cook at home via KZbin videos, her cookbook, and cooking classes. She currently lives in Vancouver, and goes to Thailand every year to visit her family. Visit her at hot-thai-kitchen.com

oooh. its quite similiar to my mother's recipe but instead, she crushes lots of garlic and a tiny bit of ginger. mix it with the chicken along with sweet soy, salty soy sauce, oyster sauce, a pinch of tumeric powder, brown sugar, ground black pepper and some salt. let it marinate for some time and fry it up. best fry it at low to medium heat for a glossy chicken. ughhh my mouth is watering as i'm writing this

another great recipe. I just made this tonight for dinner and it was simple, quick, and super easy. I followed the recipe verbatim, even though the protein only marinaded for 20 minutes, the taste was spot on. During the week when you're short on time, try this and you won't regret it. Thank you yet again for sharing.

I love ginger. I have been cooking Ginger Soy Chicken for many years using ginger slices. It was very good but I have never thought of using minced ginger. For my dinner tonight, I tried exactly what you have shown on this video. It tasted so much better with the MINCED GINGER!!! Thank you so much Pai .

Thanks! Love your channel!! Green curry chicken was first, now this. I bought fresh ginger and wanted "ginger chicken". You were the first on the list... done! I didn't have the last two soy ingredients, so I subbed oyster sauce and black bean (for the sweet, salty and color) and scallions in place of cilantro (I do love cilantro) AMAZING!!

I really enjoy watching your videos and trying the recipes and cooking techniques. This dish is definitely a keeper! I doubled the recipe and had the same problem as Kouglizia with the chicken releasing a lot of water. At least I know how to improve next time. Keep the videos coming - I'm a big fan!

+Chong Lor I hope. I saw this made on a TV show years ago in a Northern Thai village, very close to Burma border. Burmese pork curry is second to none.

I don't know why but I always ended up here watching your video starving //cry Anyway, I would recommend going for a 'how to cook Jasmine rice' video. Cooking a perfect aromatic soft jasmine rice is every chef's magic tricks :P. I'd like to learn one of yours too. hehe I'm Thai btw

Hi pai, I noticed in your book you forgot to add the black soy sauce to the marinade instructions although it is listed in the ingredients list! I love your Book, Channel and always double check by watching and reading your recipes. Thank you so much for your hardwork. Nothing but respect to you!

It's the Chinese New Year Season...I'm very inspired to cook the same dish but replace the chicken with mock pork instead. I really don't know why but once I cook it I will snap a photo and share it with you Pai!

Hi Pai. I learnt so much from your channel. I mixed two of your recipes and got something great. I cooked the ginger soy chicken and mixed it with the ginger soy sauce you made for Pla Neung See Ew. The result: Total Yummm! Looking for some steamed chicken recipe

Can u make a Thai dipping sauce that has tomatoes and ground pork or ground chicken? I had it before at a friends house and idk what it's called...lol but it was amazing to eat with fresh cucumbers and other steamed veggies:)

May I answer please. It depends on what veg you want to put in. If its hard/think veg like you should put it while the chinken still uncook on the inside but if it soft veg, just put it when the chicken is nearly cook. And it will come out perfectly balance. Sometimes I put veg first if I'd like to cut it in big and think pieces!

Pai, there is another variation to this dish that my mum makes. You can still use the left over worship chicken and cook it as you did but towards the end she added heaps of Chinese rice wine. Which Chinese rice wine? well, different style of wine give different accent to the dish. I think the type she used is "Fan chow" in Cantonese. There is also another style of wine that they call rose wine "Mui Kwai Low" also in Cantonese. This wine is an ingredient in making Dried Chinese sausages (Lup Cheong). Try it and try it in different style of wine.

Ive not been able to find the Black soy sauce in Australia, I have found the Mountain sauce but only in a few online shops and would make an expensive purchase just for one item.

Why do yous say 'coriander' when referring to the seeds and 'cilantro' when referring to the fresh coriander. Are these two DIFFERENT herbs/spice?

Usually that's either because the pan is too crowded and steam gets trapped and water can't evaporate. Also if heat is too low water will not evaporate fast enough. :)
