This happened in Australia. A female prison officer fell in love with a prisoner. She hired a helicopter and they made their escape and were on the run for awhile before being caught.
@donacatanguma8 ай бұрын
Yes, it was obvious from the start of her interview. Her father brought nothing but addiction, violence, and chaos to the family. She’s obviously a victim of intergenerational trauma and it’s a healthy start that she’s capable of recognizing this. She most likely felt a strong affinity with her boyfriend’s story and trauma bonded with him. And at the same time, he was a safe male who couldn’t hurt her by virtue of being locked up. The helicopter escape scenario is more common than generally known. Prisons have even put up wire mesh, and cables over courtyards to prevent this from happening. I hope she continues with her therapy and eventually finds a healthy relationship, with the love that she and her daughter deserve. She seems like a sincere and empathic person. Much love to her and her daughter. She’s much stronger and more beautiful than she realizes. ❤️☀️

Sounds like her father is a narcissist, & she was the "golden child"... When she said she felt very similar to her boyfriend on death row I felt what she meant. When I dated a monster I felt like we had so much in common. We both would find it odd how much we had in common, in weird things, not like favorite movies or colors, but more unique things that made us who we were. That was the hardest person for me to let go of. As an empath, perhaps she is one too, you are able to pity narcissists, you had family members you can't help but love .. Sometimes we meet broken people like ourselves. Maybe they are monsters or maybe they are just lost like we are. But we always see the good in them. Even when they hurt us. It is empathy you cannot help but feel. Even if you want to hate that person, part of you pities them.

If anything is clear from SWU is that the majority of all dysfunctional people are because of their childhood and circumstances. We can’t choose that. Bosnian War was occurring when her family fled to Sweden. I interviewed lots of Bosnians during the 1990s,. I heard lots of trauma like rape, torture, and beatings among Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and Muslims and suspect that maybe playing into her trauma [ in addition to her family issues]and her life choices. Hope her daughter Iris is ok and in Sweden. She is truly lucky Sweden granted her family permanent residence in the country. Many Bosnians were sent back
@ShejtanVrbaski7 ай бұрын
Most of Bosnian refugees in Sweden got to stay as Sweden in those days granted permanent residence as standard, which gave ability to apply for Swedish citizenship after 5 years. It was actually Germany that sent many Bosnians back after the war ended. Also, I must elaborate on your (and some other posters) comments about the Bosnian War. ( I won't repeat myself why I think Ivana's situation unlikely has anything to do with it ). You make it seem like there were just these three crazy Balkan tribes just killing eachother with equal share of responsibility for whatever happened there. The Bosnian war was not a civil war. It was agression / attack on Bosnia-Herzegovina's sovereignty orchestrated by neighbouring states - primarily Serbia but even Croatia (the latter is a taboo subject in some circles as Croatia generally counts as "one of the good guys" in Yugoslav wars, especially since Serbia attacked Croatia too 1 yr earlier). While it is Captain Obvious that civilians of all sides involved in an armed conflict do suffer it is important to not use that fact in purpose of normalization or relativization of what really was going on there. It was only Serbs that commited genocide against their Bosniak muslim neighbours, while Croatian side is responsible for so called joint criminal enterprise causing severe crimes against humanity. This is just a proven legal fact and nothing really to argue or compromise about if you respect the international rule of law. All this is easy to verify if you do research. All atrocities, war crimes, systematic plans for murder and/or expulsion of population are well documented by the International War Crime Tribunal in Hague - resulting in pretty much entire Serbian military and political establishment from that time ending up behind bars for genocide and war crimes. Quite few prominent Croatian figures were convicted too, like that loon who commited suicide by taking poison in the court when he got his verdict not that long time ago! Only small number of Bosniak / pro-Bosnian individuals were convicted, no high ranks and certainly not for genocide.

@ShejtanVrbaski The point of my comment the war in Bosnia could have played in the trauma the woman experienced. The video is designed to understand her decisions. It was not explored or discussed during the interview. Most viewers don't know about the war, so I had to state something quick why it was a relevant comment. If any viewer is interested in a history of the war in Bosnia, he or she can easily get that information.

@@TheApparatchikI'd have to agree with you. This trauma is deep, and it something you can't just get rid of, and people get scarred differently. These psychological scars last a lifetime. It's really sad. Fellow Bosnian speaking here, fled to Germany during the war, had to find a new place to live after the war. However, this young lady was not one who would have been affected by the Bosnian trauma. She was too young to probably remember any of it. Most of her trauma will have stemmed from a really jacked up family situation. Cheers!
