My cat developed the “pouch” when around 8. I started crying and took her to the vet. Thought it was a tumor. Felt like an idiot when vet said she was just chubby and pouch is normal. She’s fifteen now and very slim, but still has the luggage.

Lol, I thought the pouches presented after my cats were spayed/neutered, and it was somehow caused by getting them fixed. Recently I saw a video that this is a biological cat thing even in big cats to store fat to protect them from starvation, but I’m not sure if that was a factual thing, I’ve never heard it from a veterinarian or anything.

Oliver is so sweet. I only once had a cat that required a lion cut every April. No matter how much I brushed/combed him throughout the year, he would suddenly have a major spurt of fur around mid-March and mat terribly. He loved laying on the cool tiles through the Summer months.

I find it interesting that no one is noticing that Oliver is a male calico. That is something extremely rare for cats. So yeah there’s something interesting about this particular cat. Update: I found out that while this cat resembles a calico, he is in fact not a calico his cote just sort of resembles a calico. In reality it’s much more likely that he is a tabby with a very unique cote. Which still makes him quite remarkable! So yeah sorry for the confusion everyone.

He's not? while Oliver does have dark light and white fur it's not the same pattern or color as a calico Calicos have very bright orange fur and the near-black spots that stop sharply when the two meet, where as Oliver's coat moreso is made up of various shades of brown that transition very smoothly to each hue I do know there are calico tabbies out there where the meeting point between the blacks and oranges are more smooth, but to my eye Oliver is just a particularly bright brown tabby with a white countershade

Some pics of long haired calico look quite similar to him. Doesn't he have 3 colors, white black and orange? Maybe a tortoiseshell cat because of the little amount of spotting, but the rarity is the same, as it comes from having 3 colors.
