I’ve recently been born again as of Nov. 2018. I always believed in God and became a lukewarm Christian over time. I did shrooms, drank, but mostly smoked pot everyday. I look back and can’t believe how patient Jesus has been waiting for me (I’m 39). I have been saved by an angel or Jesus (not sure at the time) at least twice, but possibly 3 times. A voice told me to let off the gas pedal when I was going through an intersection, as soon as I did, a truck blew a stop sign that would have killed me. I also fell asleep at the wheel another time and WOKE up while driving sitting upright and very much positioned like a robot. I ended up on the other side of town somehow! Fell into a pool’s deep end as a child, somehow my mother knew to check on me and pulled me out. I had another experience where I was praying for a relative that was brutally murdered and burned alive years prior. I was HIT like a sledgehammer with unexplainable peace and joy. Instantly tears poured out of my eyes and I had the breath sucked out of me, totally winded. It was like I was experiencing the joy of heaven but my human body could not handle it! I also experienced an interaction with several demons in the basement of a psychic lady’s house who summoned them and spoke to them nightly. The fear and anger I felt as their eyes pierced my soul was like nothing of this earth......,over and over and over Jesus was calling me!!! I was too much of a fool to notice, even though I believed in Him! In November of 2018, after a minor argument with my fiancée, I heard a demon’s voice talk to me telepathically in my mind- “I hate you, I’ll kill you and tear your family apart.” With the most conviction in my soul I commanded that thing to leave my house in the name of Jesus Christ. Every room in the house I yelled at it. I felt our Lord blast through my house and beat those things down! Whoosh gone! I prayed and thanked him and repented for allowing them to get close to me. He talked to me telepathically asking me questions and made me feel the guilt of my sins. Lots of information as a sort of psychic download into my heart and mind simultaneously. Question 1: “After all I’ve done for you, what have you done for Me, and others?” Question 2: “Am I NOT enough for you?” Then, the weight of my sins lifted, it was incredible. Since that moment, I’ve had no desire to drink, smoke, blaspheme, masterbate, be angry, stressed out or sin at all. Wanting to share love with no other possible explanation. I notice the tiniest signs he puts in my path....I see them right away and chuckle, seeing He really does work in mysterious ways. I fully understand how to have a relationship with him and not need to physically see or hear our relationship. He is incredible people! Let him into your heart! I had felt in my soul the the extremes of joy and sorrow through just some of my life experiences..... Feeling the presence of God and Satan deep inside through strange encounters. For that, I am blessed to KNOW Christianity is the truth, yet I STILL tried to not fully commit. He wants us all to repent and accept Him. He actually told me this! Don’t think you can sin all your life and God will be OK with it. He really will reward you if you follow with all your heart!! I became born again at age 40, I’m now 73, and my first Christian hero was Eric the Red. He was my kind of guy. Eric arrived back in Iceland and lined up all his people and told them they were now Christians. I agreed with that principle. I baptised my wife 3 times in the bath on 3 seperate occasions. My family were terrified to take a bath lest I should do my John the Baptist thing. Apparently I baptised others. All of which is now thankfully a blur. But I found it very difficult dealing with my little clan that didn’t have the good sense that Eric the Red’s tribe seemed to possess. Eventually to my utter dismay my wife actually threw me out of the house with some shouting. I lived alone for the next 5 years. God did a serious number on me which I obviously needed and slowly I came to terms with the fact that you can’t win em all. In my case I hadn’t won any. I remember marvelling at a man who slowly over time had won a work colleague to the Lord. But nevertheless Eric the Red, my first Christian hero was some kind of guy whom I remember with fondness. The moral of the story is you have to start somewhere. When I was 45 my wife got born again and whilst I wasn’t using Eric the Reds tactics some of it had rubbed off. Maybe that’s why she reckoned she came to the Lord kicking and screaming, fighting and biting, when she cried for about 2 hours and lost all her justifiable resentment of me. I held her hand as she passed away four and a half years ago. And on her deathbed she was thanking God. I can remember her now saying quietly over and over again, thank you Lord. She was a good wife. And I was a lucky man.

I like Cliffe's approach to apologetics but unfortunately he is in error to say that salvation is 'a commitment to Christ'. This is what's known as 'Lordship salvation' and is theologically erroneous. Salvation is the gift of God and is received by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone (Matthew 7:21-23 A.K.A 'The strait gate, the narrow way', John 3:16, John 6:47, Acts 16:31, Romans 4:5, 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:8-9 etc etc KJV). Making a 'commitment to Christ', or making Jesus 'The Lord of your life' are discipleship requirements, not salvation requirements. God bless all who watched this video. Amen.

Right. So Jesus calls upon just a few to spread His word and not all, right? How do you know if you are among the chosen few? Seems like your argument is faulty to me.
@boltrooktwo3 жыл бұрын
The grace and gift of God alone is a question of where the value comes from and not the free will choices you are called to make. No human being can create the condition of salvation into God’s kingdom nor develop the character of themselves, they need God. We are still called to serve the Lord, obey the commandments, and love God from our free will choices. We make choices based on justification instead of our own pleasure and God appeals to us throughout scripture with the justification of God’s authority, creator-ship, wisdom, and foreknowledge so we will listen, fear to sin against God, and put our effort into seeking God and truth.

Cliffe says that the appeal of atheism is that "I can do whatever I want, life is ultimately meaningless", speaking as an atheist, the only thing all atheists have in common is that we don't believe in Gods, whether that be the Christian God, the Islamic God, The Hindu God or any of the hundreds of other Gods that mankind has invented over years. We can't do whatever we want in life if he means committing crimes, we all know our actions have consequences. As regard to life being ultimately meaningless, if he means that in a few hundred years or a billion years no one will remember me he's probably right, but all the atheists I know believe we're only here once and we're extremely lucky to be alive and to experience life, what we do in the here and now is important, the things we do impact others so if we treat one another with respect, that is reciprocated, it's far better to live a life in which we all cooperate and get on with each other than not. We are social creatures, it benefits us to be friendly. You don't need a God to tell you that. Will that matter in a million years time, probably not, but in the here and now it does matter.
@Absolution554 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk well that’s how you defined your life, the atheist philosopher Alex Rosenberg said there is no meaning to life. If your view holds that there is no meaning and purpose to life then why contradict your view by saying what we do here and now is important? Nothing is important if everything has no meaning, our impact on others doesn’t matter either. Life has no meaning. You’re just existing, like everything else.

I don't have his verbal skills. But going back to meaning and purpose in life. If I tell you that my life in a million years time will have no meaningful impact on anything, that doesn't make what i do today meaningless in the slightest. The pleasure and purpose I get in life has meaning now, you can also have a massive positive impact on those around you, in my job I get lots of praise everyday from people who are grateful for my services, it's not meaningless. Tell that to the people I help in life. It's much much much more than existing, If you were to help someone on the street who has homeless, and maybe buy them a coffee and a burger, that would almost certainly be the biggest thing in that guys day today, it would cheer him up no-end. It might not matter in 200 years time when you are both dead, but in that moment, it was very much appreciated. I'm sure even Alex Rosenberg would agree with me.

No, I’m not catholic either that website just had it stated to the point. It doesn’t matter what people you help or what impact you do today. The conclusion is that life is meaningless. I don’t see how giving your personal assessment of why your life has meaning and purpose would convince another. Your view on life is subjective, so my view is just as relevant as yours. You’re just saying you only have meaning in your life when you help people. So the rest of the time that you’re not helping anyone you and your existence is meaningless.

Cliffe answers this multiple times throughout his videos. The issue of how God is going to judge someone who's never heard about Christ is never addressed in the Bible. The question then becomes "Is God going to be fair or unfair?" God is going to be fair. He judges based on what you do know, not what you don't. So what about people of other faiths that have heard, but reject, the Gospel? God is not going to force them into Heaven against their will.

In Hebrews 11 -- and at the transfiguration in Matthew 17 and Mark 9 -- people who never heard of Jesus are in Heaven. The patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Samson, Samuel, Noah, Enoch, Abel, et al. Moses also appears at the transfiguration, as does Elijah. This can be extended to people all over the world throughout history. There were people in ancient China, Australia before colonization, Africa, Europe before Christendom who sincerely reached out to God with what little they knew -- and yet also by their great wealth of knowledge provided by Creation itself -- and God imputed Jesus' blood to them and we will see them in Heaven. Another indicator is in Revelation where it says people from EVERY tribe, tongue and nation will be rejoicing before the throne of God. Question answered.

The Bible is a mixture of recordings of real places and people, and exaggerated tales of supernatural occurrences that are almost certainly fanciful tales to excite the reader, there is absolutely no way to verify magical stories.I'm more than willing to accept a man called Jesus may well have existed, but all that stuff about him being the Son of God, I'm going to need a lot more convincing. What's up friend. I have to respectfully, strongly disagree with you. I wanna try to give you an accurate perception from the eyes of a believer. For me the "one way to salvation" that Christ taught is like this: let's say you're in a burning building and you don't know the way out but I do. And i try to tell you over and over "Over here! This is the ONLY way out." And you respond with "Well why is there only one way out? Shouldn't every door in this building lead me to where i want to go?" It's not intolerant or close-minded to say that there's only one way out. Also truth by definition is exclusive. Murder can't be wrong and at the same time ok. Or, if I wanna travel up a mountain but there's only one road that leads there and every other road leads to death. Is it intolerant for you to tell me there's only one way? I'm not trying to say you're dumb and i have all the answers. But from where I stand, Christ is the truth! After putting all my hope in Him 6 years ago my life has never been the same. Instant change! before i ever even picked up a bible and knew the Word I was living by it. Thank you Holy Spirit!! The one who leads me to do nothing but love others. It's not a religion friend. Let me get this straight. So Before the foundation of the world God knows and God predestined who will be saved. God then dies on the cross for those people, His chosen people because he wants to save them. But then God's plan to save a person can somehow be thwarted!? If there are people in hell that God wanted to or tried to save then that means that God FAILED at trying to save a person. Whereas I believe in a God who when he wants to save a person, he does it. A God who accomplishes what He sets out to do. That when God begins a work in someone by drawing them by the Holy Spirit, that he brings a good work that he started to completion. Cliffe seems to have turned free will into an Idol. It seems like man's will is more powerful than Gods. On Cliffe's view it seems like salvation is ultimately up to man and not God because at the end of the day it's up to MAN to accept or reject. God doesn't need your permission to do something let alone save you if he wants to. Cliffe said that God's love must involve a choice? Think of it like this though. Lets say you have a kid or an adult that you love and they are standing in the street and they don't see that a car is about to hit them. Are you going to just stand on the side of the street and reach your hand out to them? Just give them this offer or choice to accept your hand or not? Of course not! If you love them you are going to run out into the street, force yourself on them and grab them to save them!

IF God wants everyone to be free how does this square with Romans 9:22
@Malhaloc3 жыл бұрын
That chapter seems to be about God having mercy and compassion on whoever He chooses. Not about God forcing anyone to do anything. Earlier in the chapter, He says to pharaoh "For this purpose I have raised you up, so My power and glory can be shown." In other words, God took a man and raised him to power over a nation so he could be a public display of God's power. But what does that mean? Well, if we're to reconcile this idea with the idea of free will and the idea that God will give us over to our unclean desires, then a logical conclusion is that pharaoh, before he was one, was probably a prideful man. God said "Ok, you want to make it all about you? Have it your way. You're going to be king of the land. Then I will break you down." We have precedent for this as well. God's going to do the same thing with Satan in the Tribulation. He's going to give Satan what he wants. He's going to make him king of the world for a while. Then God is going to show His power and glory before He destroys the devil.
@bonnie43uk4 жыл бұрын
Cliffe says that "Hell is Gods great compliment to the reality of human freedom and dignity of human choice" I don't think anyone in their right mind would knowingly choose to go to Hell. Christians themselves cannot agree on exactly what Hell is, whether it's this 'separation from God", whatever that means, or whether it's some form of actual punishment as various Biblical passages allude to. I don't think a truly loving God would allow his creation to suffer, certainly not in some kind of eternal hell hole. That would be evil, two wrongs don't make a right, as it were. Infinite punishment for finite crimes is abhorrent.

Unfortunately, when it comes to suffering after death, most christians are getting it horribly wrong. Many says people are given the choice here, whether to choose Heaven or Hell, yet this is a complete nonsense. Go outside and ask random people would they like to stick one of their fingers into a boiling water for one minute, just one minute and see their reactions. People would look at you like you are crazy, because it is a clystar clear obviousness that NOBODY would like to do so, yet many christians claim that almost all people in the world are choosing their entire bodies to burn in flames day and night without rest forever and ever? So no. People do not choose Hell, people ends down there yes but they dont choose it. The reason why most people ends to Hell is complicated and not clearly understood, what i mean is why do people ends down to such unimaginable horrors, pains and suffering what they themselves has done to nobody even for one minute. What i understood is that Hell is not a just place and nobody gets there to receive justice, people ends down there to receive horrifying torture for the fun of Satan and demons, so its an evil place, this is why it is a finite place, it will have its end, it wont continue for eternity because no evil can stay forever. Its just for some reason evil has to thrive right now, Satan has to have his fun for a time. Why, i dont know.

@@nikokapanen82 Satan works through men. He could have no power if men would not give into temptation. Men give into temptation because they will not ask with faith for power to overcome.

@@danielholm1987 Satan owns this world, what do you think it means? What he owns here? Snails in the woods? Ants on the hills? No. He owns human souls. Most people belongs to Satan, he has his grip on them. This wont continue forever, Satan will be destroyed eventually but as of today, he owns most of the human souls and takes them to Hell after they die.

Why does god only talk to some and not all!!

What do you mean friend? He speaks to me all the time 😌
@godislove3634 жыл бұрын
Let me ask you this, do you talk to all, or approach all you see? Why or why not? You see simpily, God knows all we need ir want. Ones weak in Christ may hear His voice or be given a scripture, or a message from a film or book. There are many ways God plants a seed. I assure you, if you are sincere in seeking The Father, Christ or the Holy Spirit, they will manifest themselves to you, how you need them t. Like the parable of a person in a boat was sinking and I needed help every type a ship came by and I refused saying God will help me help me and hint yet that was God helping them ignored it, sometimes we miss the obvious regard seeking something bigger than we need to.

@@JohnjOcampoI…of course…am not talking about tolerance of people who do harm. Like criminals. But tolerance is wonderful for law abiding citizens
