Man this game has been getting an INSANE overhaul. Imagine future simulations like “Yeah the ENTIRE dragon clade went extinct, now we’re in another epoch.” “At least the plants were able to spread to their island, thanks to the water and gas seeds. Without the creatures eating them they’re mutating into mangroves!”

Boy am I glad to see one of my desired suggestions realized. What a great work have you done, Wessel!! Please continue!! Small suggestion: the snow music is really apt for cold environments and as a manifest building upon the rain music, but peehaps you can add a more "oppressive" or "dark" musical atmosphere for prolonged eras which qualify as a proper "ice age", the darker the more colder it gets, that can communicate how hard it is for the creatures to survive. The same could be said for extremely hot environments. Perhaps the periods or eras of prolonged distress and extinctions may have a corresponding music generated on the fly. Say, a 40 percent decline in species may play a grim music. Conversely, a sudden rise in biodiversity like a ln evolutionary radiation may generate a more majestic and splendorous music themes, signifying new possibilities and paths.

About roots, in real life the soil depth and type is based on climate AND plant life living there. For example high temp, high moisture and a lot of decaying plant matter leads to lots of soft soil. Maybe there could be a system whereby soil starts off more barren meaning only small plant life can grow and then as more plants die and decay, the soil becomes thicker and bigger plant life is able to evolve in that area. This would allow for a more dynamic and realistic way of plants evolving

Keep up the great work, this next update looks amazing!! As far as gameplay Ideas, I only have 1. So the simulation already tracks the amount of extant plants and animals in the cladogram tab, I think it could be cool if the planet's temperature could be effected by the proportion of plants to animals? Sort of simulating an atmosphere, that way things like the Devonian extinction could happen if there is a sudden population surge of one or the other

Fungi are really important for the environment. Add a 3rd stage of meat called rotten meat, and only fungi can eat it and it won't despawn. If an animal is near rotten meat it has a 5% chance of randomly dying. Rotten meat is togglable for lag reasons. Also, some fungi can take control of the animals with the smallest animal size.

Can you add more vestigial versions of body parts (like vestigial wings, vestigial leg types, hamd types) As it stands, animals lose their body parts too quickly without transitional forms. The game and the simulation is amazing, but it truly needs more smoother transitions between kinds of body parts.
@TheSapling Жыл бұрын

Hey, idk if someone already said this but i think you should add diseases Like this way: you get a button to create a disease, and them in the creation you can add Symptoms to them, you choose wich, and after this maybe to detect the disease you select the button that makes you detect heat, wind, etc, and then you detect where is the disease. after some time if one species is suffering much from a disease, he can evolve immunity to one of the Symptoms or the entire disease, I think that part can be in the same part as the instincts and diet. well this is my suggestion, goodbye have a nice life :D.

Could you use several scrolling perlin noise maps to form more natural clouds? also I have a few ideas, if you add streaks of white wind visual effects (this would look great!) You could add scents that travel in the wind and a nose feature. Also you should add a distant fog effect to add mystery and intrigue, this would take the form of a shroud of fog surround the island that drifts inwards and outwards from the borders, also you could add very low LOD islands in the distance, this could generate models of the other islands or even just random ones. Also! One more thing if you add a shader which shifts the water to a more teel color the closer it is to the shore, and a white foamy outline at the waters end. Final thing, can you add dense leaves to trees like in real life, this could be anything but it would just be smalled and more dense leaves in the canopy to add variety and realism. I hope you hear me out for some of this stuff, but even if you dont it looks great! Thanks!
