No problem, dont let it intimidate you with cost if this is something that interests you, it may take a lot of work, time, patience, and saving, but its a pretty special art to be a part of. usually you start off with soft glass because its a cheaper way to get started, but its really hard to stay patient and be persistent with it, especially when the glass pops so easily. you can work soft glass with a hot head torch $35 a bead annealer $70 at devardiglass a few pounds of glass $50 and

a few basic tools. you will be limited to very small beads with that bead annealer, you could save up while you are learning for a blue bird or chilli pepper kiln to make things a little bigger ie. pendants, basic sculpture, hollow beads and use it for pipes later on when you have the right torch. One thing to note, oxygen is a a little expensive, and a little scary, not to mention liquid oxygen lol. alot of people go the oxygen concentrator route. Your torch needs oxygen to burn hotter, thats

Do you use the hand held torch near the beginning to reset the strike on the AP?

the beauty of the hot head. just dont ever use a bulk tank adaptor for BBQ tank, its pressures are HIGHLY UNSTABLE!!! only use camping tanks (16oz) as annoying as it may be. Safety first no matter what, check your gas connections before and after each use to ensure no leakage, wear safety didydium eyeware approved for lampwork, and work is a well ventilated area.

hey i have a question i want to get in to glass blowing but i dont know where to begin i dont know wat kind of torch i should buy and im kinda on a budget and stuff but i want to learn
@mindstorm4711 жыл бұрын
try to track down someone in your area that can show you what its all about, and see if its right for you first. the equipment is quite expensive, you should make sure thats what you want to do before investing your time and money. its not an easy life either, expect lots of burns, cuts, and other surprises, along with the tense learning curve and business model.

dichroic imagery , Sundanceglass , Nortelmanufacturing , tons of places. your main concern in setting up is cost. If you have 8 thousand to throw into a hobby that can turn into a career go for it. I did, oxygen is my new problem. this torch requires 15 psi 30 lpm of oxygen. tanked liquid oxygen(cryogenic Dewars) and gas oxygen are one option, the other is stacking oxy concentrators. for this one, about 3 M-20s and a healthy electric bill.
