I feel that my friend Richard brought me to listen here. Did he believe he didn't deserve to live? Did he believe he deserved to die? Did he come by trial and condemnation to self execution? Why, when he believed passionately in life, in touching joy, in seeking truth, in relishing and wringing out every last drop of love? Why when he always expressed such deep empathy for the suffering of others, participating in the very travail of the planet Herself. Here not searching for understanding, but coming to acceptance of your right to terminate the struggle, under the only terms you felt were possible. I remember you, shall remember you, along the bright days and shadowed nights remaining to me. Carrying you within me like the cosmic child you are.
