The difference between the strange alliance of Harris and Cheney vs Trump and RFK Jr. is that the former are united in suppressing political opposition through the media and the courts and in military interventionism that resorts to war before exhausting all alternative means whereas the latter are united in defending free speech, ending lawfare, prioritizing diplomacy over war, and ending corporatist abuses in the environment, medicine, and food.

The outward appearance of Dem vs GOP is just to keep the masses distracted from the fact that they are all funded by AIPAC, Raytheon, Pfizer and others. Thus preventing any change in the status quo regarding endless wars/coups/gen0cides, and the lack of 1st world universal healthcare. I don't know, it seems he's making the wrong case. After the corporate takeover, suspension of labor rights, and pandemic corporate looting, what we need isn't the message that Democrats are the establishment. It's that the Republicans have controlled the government since the late 1960s, and it's gotten to the point that their business contacts are picking candidates for both parties. If you don't like your corporate politicians, you need to take it up with the branch of government that legalized it, and the political party the supported it, and profited off the politics. Democrats are the opposition party, out of power, and have been for over 50 years. The Fox News framing of insurgent Republicans isn't truthful, or helpful at all. You've got a uniparty partly because American clown journos don't know how their own government works!

I disagree with the headline - both Democrats and Republicans are establishment parties and they simply reflect different factions of the bourgeoisie that has never been monolithic and that never will be. The Democrats are the political agents of Wall Street & Big Tech whereas the Republicans lean more towards representing the interests of the industrial bourgeoisie. It is true however that after the post WW2 boom came to an end in the late 1960s the financial aristocracy has gradually become the overlords of the industrial bourgeoisie - in that sense you might call the Democrats 'ultimate' but that doesn't magically turn the Republicans into a party of the working people & the lower middle class.

I accept that Democratic Party is CURRENTLY more pro-establishment but GOP isn't exactly anti-establishment party yet. Support for corporations, "free" trade, military hawkishness, surveillance etc. is almost intact in GOP if you pay close attention. A few loud senators, Trump, and freedom caucus members won't change that fact. But yes, one important difference between both still mostly pro-establishment parties is their bases. Democratic party base, which used to be more anti-establishment, has become fully pro-establishment just because Trump is anti-establishment and they are anti-Trump before anything else. While GOP base, which used to be more corporatist, market fundamentalist, pro-free trade, and hawkish on foreign policy has largely become anti-establishment, largely because Trump is anti-establishment and they are pro-Trump before anything else. I can still picture a GOP politician being pro-free trade, "peace through strength" type hawkish, and corporatist through and through winning GOP nomination in 2028 and the Trump base fully supporting that candidate. Because they are uneducated before anything else.
