this solved my 6 month long apathy, I knew something was up but my blood was tested on almost everything on the entire labform, but they don't do iodine blood tests, now when I started supplementing iodine on my own after trying dozens of things beacause my doctors thought I was becoming crazy and made up a problem, I became alive after 3 days, crazy... thank you so much, I've lost a lot of confidence in medical professionals that's for sure...

I walked into a pharmacy/drug store (chancy drugs) today and asked for dietary iodine. Pharmacist said she had no idea that iodine was taken orally. I asked her if she ever heard of iodized salt. She looked at me puzzled and confused. I stated that I was in the wrong place and walked out the door.

When I was in my 30s I was told I needed a mammogram every year even though there was no breast cancer in my family. Thinking doctors knew everything I did what I was told. My dog began pushing his nose deep inside my breast. So when I went in for my mammogram I told them, I think there’s something in there. They didn’t see anything on the mammogram because my breasts are too dense. My first thought that is why am I getting one of these every year? So then they did an ultrasound and found a lump about the size of a plum. Said it was benign. Course they wanted to cut it out so I went to a naturopath. He had me take five drops of Lugol’s iodine daily Within two months the tumor has shrunk. I’ve been taking 3 to 4 drops daily for the last 15 years. All my thyroid tests come out normal. I have discovered that this is to help counteract radiation. Not saying everybody should do this but it’s not harming me.

If I used iodinized salt and ate salt water fish each day my iodine intake would be less than 1mg per day. Our body has about 1500mg of which up to 50mg is stored in the thyroid. Other iodine storage areas are breasts saliva glands and ovaries which also make T2. We urinate excess iodine. Your 12.5 mg per day is excellent. The breasts store iodine but the thyroid needs iodide. Lugols is a good supplementation. Iodine was being used to cure goiter in the 1800s. Doctors in the 1970s were using 400mg three times per day Super Saturated iodine for patients in the hospital. Goiter is from low iodine. Hashimotos is low iodine and low selenium, B2, B3 possibly. If your doctor only test TSH T4 T3 ask for an iodine test. Low iodine results in breast and ovary cysts which can turn cancerous. There is a pandemic of deficient vitamin D and iodine.

I took 5% Lugol's iodine five days a week for a year, applying it to my stomach, nails, throat, and everywhere else, and it worked really well for me. However, at the end of the year, I developed large lymph nodes in my throat, under my jaw, and around my ears, as well as near the trachea. I experience a burning sensation in my throat whenever Lugol's iodine touches it. It swells more and never goes down. Killing good bacteria and allowing bad ones to multiply, causing an infection in my salivary glands. I have used many antibiotics, but it never goes away. And in the last three months, five thyroid nodules suddenly appeared. We also applied 2% Lugol's iodine to my son and had him gargle with it, and he developed black rashes on his legs, his teeth decayed, white lines appeared on his nails, and his throat lymph nodes became very hard. What is 'T2'? I have developed problems in my salivary glands and breasts after using iodine. Do you know how to fix this with 'T2'?

After 3yrs, my allergies of 48yrs disappeared, then I had a wicked oxalate dumping weekend, but beautiful once on the other side. Now I'm upping my Lugol's iodine, as I'm listening to every interview with Dr. Elizabeth Bright I can find. Search for Morley Robbins on YT. I started off with very low vitamin D (clear signs) I was very tired, and hair coming out thinning, gaining weight, cold, and I found out the knee reflex doesn’t work as well ( I had this for many years!) my breast were sore, I was depressed, didn’t have a period unless I took folic acid… they never tested my iodine! I had to nearly fight to get my Thyroid tested for Hashimoto… because my labs were coming back normal. When I say the medical field failed me… they failed me! I was told I was older and this comes with aging. I was 37. I’m on the medication but I want to be healed!!! 🙄

I am so glad I found this video today. I have been wondering if it’s an iodine deficiency. I researched what the thyroid needs to function properly and found it needs, iodine, iron, selenium and zinc. When I asked if we could test any of these levels, my doctor told me they don’t have any sort of test out there to test these levels. I was polite but left there feeling like that was a bunch of bologna. I have been going to a PT that specializes in POTS and started an electrolyte/sodium pill from there. It’s basically potassium and table salt. I have been taking them for a couple months now. In April we discovered my thyroid was low functioning and my numbers were starting to be off. Well I just got my thyroid tested again last week and guess what?! My TSH with FT4 is now normal. I am so thankful I didn’t start levothyroxine like they wanted me to. I told them I wanted time to think it over and try to resolve this naturally. As I have also been working with a functional medicine doctor and have learned that the body can actually heal itself, if given the proper nutrition. Thank you for this video and putting this information out here because most doctors just want you to take meds to fix everything and then you end up with more issues later on. It’s good to dig a little deeper and consider finding out the reason why it’s not functioning properly to begin with.

I got a doctor's appointment with a new doctor. I'm 65 years old went through menopause 15 years ago and I'm still having horrifying hot flashes off the top of my head so bad that the sweat drips off the end of my shoulder length hair. Handheld fan that sprays water is the only thing that will saves me. Dr kept saying blood tests are normal. My medication has not been changed in 15 years. I believe I'm being overmedicated. When I told my doctor that I would like to go to a thyroid specialist she acted insulted. Set the blood tests were within range and I was just fine. I do not take pills if I don't have to, not even an aspirin. One time after I've been begging her for sleeping pills and she would not prescribe them for me and told me to just take melatonin. Finally after 4 days of not sleeping her nurse practitioner went ahead and prescribed me some sleeping pills. Great I'm on another pill. At least I won't die from lack of sleep. Getting some sleep but not much because I got to wake up so I won't soak my pillow with sweat and have to lay back down on it in the middle of the night. I feel for each and every one of you. When you say you have a bad thyroid to somebody who doesn't understand it's like saying you have an ingrown hair. I sure hope my new doctor cares enough to make me have some kind of functional life.

Ok - according to David Brownstein, who has done this for 30 years... yes, the average is 200 mg of iodine however not everyone tolerates it and yes, some people need more. But. he also said in a recent interview that it's always going to drive the TSH up for a short period of time because the body is going to make more receptors to move that iodine where it needs to go. This effect can last up to a year or more. It's more about how you feel. That was my understanding .

I finally dropped the iodine and have regained mt voice and hair has now began growing back. I saw almost immediate improvement in voice an a month or more for hair improvement. I've found that taking kelp keeps my iodine levels good. I tried taking Lugol's internally some years ago and it about killed me, so not everyone needs super high doses to function optimally. I recommend that anyone who's interested in taking an iodine supplement internally should work with an iodine educated doctor and not try to self medicate with high dose iodine supplements like Lugol's, iodoral, or nascent iodine.

Not everyone can handle high dose iodine. Lugol's iodine bout killed me several years ago. So it's not wise to take multiple milligrams of iodine all willy nilly like any other supplement - especially if you have a chronic illness and you're in a weakened state. It's recommended that you work with an iodine educated doctor so you don't accidentally murder yourself. You can thank me later and just take some kelp or if you must use Lugol's iodine, use it externally and know that you'll absorb approximately 8 to 12 percent of said iodine which is orders of magnitude safer than taking Lugol's iodine internally.

Great vlog, very informative but I have to say here in the UK, if you ask your doctor questions especially if you asked them to check your T3 & T4 levels they take it as questing their expertise. I had an incident when I was prescribed 2 different antibiotics to treat a year long sebaceous cyst on my butt cheek and was told these antibiotics will cause you to lose muscle mass to which I replied that's fine I take Coq10 which should compensate and the doctor didn't know what CoQ10 was! I had to explain it was an enzyme made by the liver and was essential in maintaining muscle mass especially for my age group of over 65. I also mentioned that this enzyme is actually one of the enzymes that is blocked by the use of Statins the other being Alpha GPC needed for cognitive support and it was the reason I stopped taking Statins 2 years prior because I educated myself and became informed so I could make better health choices. After this conversation I started questioning everything on all my visits to my doctor. I was told in writing that the practice no longer wanted to treat me and I was given 30 days to find another practice and if I hadn't found one in that time period I could request help from the NHS to find one for me. They don't like to be questioned nor do they want you to know more than them. Since then I had my cyst surgically removed and I have found another doctor's but I no longer question them I just use them for diagnosis purposes and I've stopped taking all my blood pressure medications and switched to natural remedies like Grape seed extract, Nattokinase and Hawthorne extract and I take my blood pressure 3 times a day and keep a record of my numbers and I can honestly say they work better than both the medications I was on. I've learnt that we really shouldn't trust our doctors because their loyalty isn't with the patient it's with big pharma (fact).

In hospital settings there are nuclear medicine where one can get a dose of radioactive iodine (RAIU thyroid uptake), and as well in CT one can receive a radiographic contrast (non-radioactive, a nonionic iodinated contrast) which has iodine in the molecule which is used in oral and intravenous administration. There are also providone iodine scrub used in procedures. What makes things difficult is that “iodine” IS found on many patient allergy lists in the hospital computer systems. I wish it wasn’t an option to list as an allergy. Due to lack of knowledge and poor memory of reaction experiences it just keeps living on as an allergy.

Just balance your potassium intake with your sodium intake 3/1 and your hypertension will decrease if not completely go away. When you have too much sodium and not enough potassium, your body thinks you are dehydrated and creates uric acid in order to create inflammation which helps your body retain water. This is what’s causing the majority of sodium related hypertension. Look up “uric acid” for the explanations of this.

It wasn't a lymph node. It was a friend of mine who told me I may be iodine deficient. I did tons of research and I came to the conclusion that I am deficient. No consumption of iodine and I regularly consume the foods that block the absorption of it. FF, I have the worst doctor. She couldn't answer what caused the nodule growth and when I suggested iodine deficiency she said I didn't need to worry about it because my thyroid levels were normal. I asked to test my iodine levels and she said no such test existed. I said so what about the daily fatigue and weakness and the occcational insomnia and the other symptoms and she said I'm depressed and instead of helping me figure out the issue, she prescribed depression meds and therapy 🤦🏻‍♀️ I obviously didn't even bother picking it up. I, instead started eating scallops, booiled eggs and shrimp and the not only is the lump gone but I feel 50% less fatigue. I have a follow up appointment and I can't wait to show her this video and request a different doctor. Thank you for this video. You are helping tremendously. I'm grateful 🙏
